Ahuna was led around by the larger Vanessa, completely baffled by her behaviour. She was quite content on touching Ahuna's body like they were bondmate, despite Ahuna having only just met this woman.
She did lead her to the engines, though, and so Ahuna tolerated her presence as her attention turned to the engines and the wondrous drones flying around.
"Vanessa seems forward with her... Flir-ting? Yet... I smell a male's scent on her. A strong scent too, not just a passing touch."

Vanessa gave a soft chuckle as she shrugged. Most relationships were common knowledge anyway.
"You have Rafael, I have my own bondmate. Too bad he is off the ship." Vanessa said lazily. Getting off the Sein'Hae, Vanessa lazily watched as the drones patched a section of the engines together, as engineers struggled to plug a large power cable back into the terminal.
"So..." Vanessa whispered as she edged to Ahuna's side again. "How is... Bonding with Rafael, was he your first one?"

"W-why do you want to know that!?" Ahuna was shocked, and pulled away from Vanessa slightly, becoming rather embarrassed about even being around her right now.
"Do all of your kind discuss their private affairs so boldly? Bonding isn't discussed openly among the Sein'Hae, boasting about that kind of thing is looked down on as disrespectful..."

"Haha, some of us talk about it in private, thought your kind might. Guess I was wrong." Vanessa said, as she continued to look at the engine bay. "It used to be disrespectful for us, until... well, most of us in the Star Fleet cant enjoy bonding at all. We cannot even have children, we die too early for those." A sad smile appeared on Vanessa's face as she fell silent. "My bondmate was one of the pilots in the four Typhoons sent to combat the Invaders... the Star Striders who brought war against us. He would have gone down if not for the sacrifice of another pilot. That pilot was my brother, and one of the soldiers who died on the planet, his wife."
Sighing, Vanessa took out a gum to chew. "Life's short. We thought we would find something so we can go home, and now we're in another part of space, lost several hundred of us. But at least we saved you guys. Something to smile about."

"O-oh... I see..." Ahuna's face became melancholy all of a sudden, as she was reminded of Endovul II.
".....We've lived a treacherous existence, constantly struggling to last another day without being devoured or mauled by something terrible... Living in the ruins of the dead, taking their possessions as our own, fighting and pillaging other clans if we were desperate.... Our believed salvation finally arrives, and following it is a thing of that brings death and suffering to all but a few of us.... Was it really worth it?"

Vanessa snorted, a truly unladylike behavior.
"Worth it? Well, you now stand in a Star Strider. We lived similar lives, although I do not expect you all to understand us immediately."
Vanessa suddenly turned to the Sein'Hae, grabbing her shoulders and pulling her to arm's length. "If you'd think that this wasn't worth it, you shame the memories of all your ancestors, of all of those who gave their lives, including ours, including our Chief, who died saving Rafael. A hundred years later, when little Ahunas are running around and learning to be great people of the Sein'Hae, hunting in the stars... they will honour you all for your sacrifice, saying that this is bloody worth it."
Tears formed by the edge of Vanessa's eyes as she blinked them away.
"So don't you dare to ask that question anymore, get it? If Rafael is too soft to ask, then Vanessa shall say it again, and again, and again. Honour your sacrifices."

"R-right... I'm sorry.... It's hard to honour your sacrifices when they're getting up and attacking you..."
As one of the last Sein'Hae to leave, she had witnessed the Invader's twisted technology, reviving the dead and using them as fodder. She looked down at the floor, wrapping her arms tightly around Vanessa, inadvertently bringing her face into Vanessa's chest.

Vanessa simply patted Ahuna's head as she let the Sein'Hae let off her tears. Of course, she knew the Invaders. As her best friend was mortally wounded, Vanessa personally melted her head and body with a full clip of a laser rifle. Every Jupiterran had specific orders, to destroy the corpses of Jupiterrans killed by the Invaders. Their bodies will ultimately be turned to dust, but their souls would be remembered.
Death was common for the Jupiterrans, that it was in their culture to be immune to it. Being captured was a different thing, and one who was about to be captured was often killed to spare them the agony of captivity.
"There there." Vanessa said, before reaching into her pocket and taking out a small rock and putting it to Ahuna's nose. The sweet smelling rock seemed to calm her down, a relaxing agent used by the Jupiterrans to ensure one does not break down for too long.
"Feeling better ain't we?"

Ahuna soon calmed, though kept her hold on Vanessa. She couldn't quite figure it out, but a strange feeling overcame her for a moment, though soon chased it away.
"So... What should we do now...?"

"What do we do? We can continue to watch the repairs, maybe you can pick some things up, seeing how wise you are." Victoria said. Turning the Sein'Hae back to the engines, Vanessa fell silent as she quietly observed the repairs. Even if Ahuna hasnt appeared, it would be what she would do.
After all, it's a good time to forget about the dead.

Though watching the repairs is quite insightful, Ahuna is soon tired of doing nothing, moving to leave the area and explore further, hoping Vanessa comes with her. Either way, she'd end up looking for small things to fix or poke at, surprisingly careful despite her lack of equipment and training.

"Five hundred years is already a considerable amount of information. Such amount of information would already be appreciated." The Overseer nodded at Rafael as he took a seat across him, hoping that the seat was comfortable enough for the organic. The room itself was just the plain white room, even the chairs and the table in between them was of a metallic white.
"Crystal sensors?" The Acruani pondered briefly, "Would there be anything you would find acceptable in exchange for the technologies on Akatsuki? We can offer some resources you may need to properly fix Akatsuki, or even offer, possible upgrades should We understand it well enough." Again the Overseer paused for a moment, "Regardless of answer however, Aktsuki and your crew are welcome to stay for as long as your repairs require, that is something outside the proposed exchange."

"Hmm we're fine with the ship's current state, seeing that our next destination is our home base." Rafael replied. "If you'd life we retain some cannons which we can exchange. Mainly laser cannons whose capacitors convert energy into heavily condensed light which uses their momentum to interact with matter, destroying matter in simpler words."
Rafael thought of something which might seem to be an adequate exchange. After all, the Star Fleet was the leading power in weaponry and shielding as far as he knew, lacking only materials and manpower.
"We can upload our historical database into your station too. If there is something we seek, perhaps it's technology relating to engines and material armour."

"We will be glad to accept the historical database, and more than glad to accept your cannons. It is always good to see how others approached the concept of light-based weaponry."
The Acruani seemed glad enough with it. It certainly was always good to know the different approaches even if the end-result might still be worse than Acruani current tech. History, however, was wonderful through and through. What kind of bad thing can happen for learning learning some history?
"In regards to engines, we are sorry to say that it would be hard to implement any technologies we are willing to share in maned ships, however as for armor materials, we have tested a large variety of them. Though of course, we can't say much about our two trade mark armors types." Not that Rafael would know much about them, "But if you have any specifications for armor material, chances are we have a composite that is close enough to it. Everything for armors that are easily mass produced, to easily repairable ones. Generally however, you can consider our armors available to you having heavier emphasis in energy and radiation defense, rather than kinetic weaponry. Nothing that can't be changed later by your engineers and scientists, that is."

"Well that seems alright. Unfortunately most of our equipment is as old as the histories. We are an exploration cruiser, not one meant for total combat, so... it might be outdated or somewhat old compared to the other technologies out there."
Rafael spoke with caution. Modular technology was always valued by the Star Fleet, being able to create unique modifications for unique missions. He wanted to make sure that the Acruani do not feel short-changed. The last time someone tried to short change the Star Fleet, the Star Fleet took everything from that impertinent faction. Honour plays a huge part in the life of a Jupiterran.
