"While it is saddening to hear about your death, and considering that Zara's behavior was less than optimal at the time, all I can give you and those who died are my condolences." Melissa smiles a rather plain smile, easily seem as eerie or fake than anything else, "But even without Acruani presence, your fleets would have other things to worry at the time. You should know by now that the Confederates were not at that battle, correct? And were instead going to attack more important worlds of the Colonials, while part of your fleet was distracted by the Keltaken." She sighs, "That terrible battle, you Colonials hate so much was closer to a distraction than anything. If your fleet had fought slightly more defensively, they would have easily held on. Your ships were more durable, Kobol had the ability to offset Zara influence in the battle, had he taken a less offensive approach. And your kill-ratio was far higher than the Keltaken despite their numbers. That battle was winnable, Captain. Sincerely, that attempt of a pincer strike was already one of the most desperate moves - for the lack of a better label - I could see. And know that regardless of any other matter, we offered aid to the Colonies, before the Keltaken asked for ours." She smiled again, an incomparably light smile.

"A distraction? Of course that you tell that, since you never saw the operational plan of the Zentraloberkommando on your own. You only saw it though the eyes of our enemies. Of course the battle was winnable, it would have been a victory if they could have completed it.", the officer retaliated. "The pincer movement was a desperate move, but it was the only way the Kriegsflotte could hold the enemy in place, exactly where it wanted it to be. If there is one thing the Colonial ships are surely better at than any Keltaken ships, is at jumping away. If the operation would have been completed, they would have just placed what they had to an escaped. It would have been too late for Zara to start the slow FTL engines of the Keltakens. It would have annihilated their entire fleet there, in one bold move."
The Colonial remained silent for a few moments, before he continued. "Yes, the operation itself was desperate, but the Hegemon and the OK needed a major victory to prove to the Diet and the Council that the war can be won. I don't expect you to understand the complicated relations between the military and the administration, although you should eventually, Ambassador, but to have free hand in a war, the Hegemon would need to proclaim martial law, and that can be done only with a ratification vote. That invasion fleet had to be crushed to turn the vote in the martial law's favor. But in never happened." At this point, it was already clear that the officer was also directing his anger at the Federal Council and the Federal Diet. "But those cowardly bureaucrats only noticed that we were losing this battle. Maybe I would have been on Xalion. or if someone else would have been there to calm them down, the operation could have been completed. Maybe if the Colonies would have had more forces there, the operation could have proceeded much easier. Even if we would have lost that battle, there were still many fleets in defensive positions, ready to fight your Confederates. The Freikorps could have been called upon. The Colonies would have fought. But our most esteemed politicians wanted to avoid, what they called, unnecessary bloodshed, so they voted for an armistice, demanding the Hegemon to stop all military operations. And the battle ended in a defeat."
This was followed by another period of silence from the Colonial, as the car continued to move. The two soldiers next to him remained emotionless, not giving away any signs about what they could have been thinking. "But of course, what happened, happened. But we do not need your condolences, Acruani. Just remember that, although the current Federal Government has been peaceful enough to let you come here, and try to mend relations, your race, and all those bastards who fought us are still enemies in the eyes of many people. You have many enemies here yourself, Ambassador. And while I am bound by my duty to the Colonies to follow the orders of the Government, there are many who aren't. Beware of daggers in the dark, and the enemies you do not see."
But then, they arrived at their destination, and the officer, with the two soldiers, got out of the car, keeping the door open for the Acruani to get out of it too. They were somewhere in an area that looked like a plain, next to a small river, a flat surface, although it was quite obvious that this certainly wasn't natural. It had probably been made up artificially, and the area around razed down a little, as only a few kilometers away, the huge, nearly complete ecumenopolis of Xalion continued, with seemingly layers upon layers of buildings, factories, and skyscrapers. This area here, guarded by some Gendarmers, and marked as a land reserved by the Federal Foreign Office, had been prepared specifically for the Acruani embassy.
"You are free to do whatever you wish with your embassy, Ambassador.", the officer said, saluting in a rather ceremonial way.

"Regardless of my beliefs on the inefficiency of the Colonial politics, it isn't something We know deeply about. It is something we hope to learn for the time We are able to stay here." The Ambassador smiled at the officer, "As long as those who are showing Us their hospitality aren't helping the enemies We have not seen, I will not worry." She smiled again, "I understand your feelings of hate towards Us, but as long as that hate isn't fed with lies, it isn't something for me or any of Us to care about. Sincerely, if there is something I admire even in the present Human military, and even humans in this galaxy, is their loyalty to their ideals." She sighs briefly before following the officer and the two soldiers out of the car. A moment later, the two Acruani come after her.
Melissa takes a look at the surroundings, and then at area reserved for the embassy before nodding at the officer and saying, "Thank you, Sternenkapitän." A light Galactic Standard accent being vaguely noticed as she said his rank. She glanced at the female looking Acruani, and said, "Eka, map the area and set up the proper coordinates for the descent of the Embassy. Ercan, survey the area with Eka, contact me if there is any anomaly. If the any proceedings take longer than expected, I may be here during the time of the Descent."
From then on, Melissa didn't spare many more looks at the area. Though the two Acruani there were individual entities, she was more than sure that they had the ability to deal with any problems that may come. Looking at the officer, the Ambassador spoke, rather formally, "I am ready to attend the joint meeting now."

"Of course, Ambassador.", the Colonial officer replied, inviting the Acruani to return to the car. Although he probably noticed the faint Galactic Standard accent of the Ambassador as she pronnounced his rank, which was in Colonial Standard, he didn't react in any specific way, although he probably thought about the presumed Human Colonial origins of the Acruani race.. but nevertheless, they all entered the car, heading for the center of Xalion... the center of the Federal District. But on their way, the Colonial officer didn't look at the Ambassador with hostility anymore, like he had done on their way from the spaceport. It would seem that both him and the soldiers were more careful at their surroundings.. and soon after their returned to the city itself, they started to be escorted by Gendarmerie cars. Especially with all those... accidents that seemed to happen in Xalion from a while, the Federals were not going to take any chances with the protection of the foreign ambassadors.
Spaceport
The Colonial girl simply laughed. "The fact that you know about freedom of opinion and freedom of speech, and yet you oppress your people only further proves how backwards you are. You are an oppressive, feudal like monarchy. You have an inquisition. You are guilty of acts of genocide, and horrifying war crimes with nearly no equal in the known history of this part of the universe. I don't need to know much about your Empire to know that it is similar to what we humans had during the Dark Ages, just at a much higher dimension. Inquisition? Check. Priests having power? Check. Monarchs? Check.", the KOLSI officer said. "And while you certainly can't find a more mixed and broad collective of races in the Andromeda than in the Keltaken Empire, that is only because the Keltakens kicked the Federation out of there. You can't even compare your nation with the Federation. More races thrive in the Empire than anywhere else? You are so funny. The Federated Colonies have thousands upon thousands of races that all live equal, united around freedom and equality. The origin of one does not matter ,in the Federation. The Articles of Colonization are everything that matter, and the pillars of support and equality they have put between all the races, ending the wars and struggles between them, building forward a united, free, and equal future. You might have been a superpower for more than our entire existence, Keltaken. And our races might have done its mistakes in the past, that is sure. But we humans have far surpassed you. In less that a millennium, we have had an empire even bigger than anything you had, we have become one of the leading races in this corner of the universe, and for the first time since the Ancients, we have brought peace to the Milky Way Galaxy. That is the mark we have left on the universe." The yellow eyed girl than smirked. "And I would rather burn first than having to talk in private with one from your damned race, daemon."
Sighing again, the Minister tried to calm things down. "It was very interesting for all of us to hear your opinion in this matter, Lieutenant von Esmarch. But now, I am afraid, we will have to leave if we want to reach the meeting in time. Please follow me, Ambassadors."
And with that, the Ambassadors were led into a large limousine, and surrounded by an escort of Gendarmerie cars, the convoy left for the center of the Federal District. And after passing near countless and countless skyscrapers and buildings in this seemingly infinite planet-city, they reached it. The Freedom Square.
It was visible for quite a while, as they slowly but surely approached it. A gargantuan square, probably having a few good hundred kilometers in diameter, seemingly being perfectly round. The high skyscrapers and buildings simply stopped around it, making it one huge, and rather free place in the center of the Federal District. But it certainly wasn't empty.
As one would approach it by car, the road, or better said the anti-gravity way turned into a suspended one, taking them above the square itself, and to its side, giving the Ambassadors, and including the Acruani one in the other car, a perfect view on the square. The first visible, and huge thing was an absolutely gigantic dome looking structure, made up of white metal, shaming even the largest creations of the human race. One couldn't even say how big it was, as it was so tall that its upper side was covered by the dark clouds of the planet. Thousands upon thousands of rails, anti-gravity roads and everything the planet had as infrastructure connected it to the rest, and it even seemed to have its own spaceports. If Xalion's atmosphere would have been clean, one would be able to see it from far away in space. But it wasn't, and in the dark yellowish atmosphere, lighted by artificial lights, the white of the dome seemed sick, like the building itself...
The square was so large that one would probably need to days to walk it on foot, but it was a perfect circle, with the dome in a center back position. And as they approached it, the main focus was on a few huge structures in the center of the Square, right in front of the Dome. Huge monuments. In a circle, Goliath like statues of twelve beings occupied the place. Some were clearly humans, while others were also humanoids. Others were aliens, and one could notice that one of the statues belonged to the same race as the Minister. But the others probably belonged to alien races the Ambassadors had never met. Each of the statue represented a person, and each of them held something in their hands, or tentacles, or whatever they had. Books. Weapons. Orbs. Because they were the Twelve, the twelve original founders of the Federation. The greatest heroes of the Colonies.
The twelve statues were forming a circle, and in the middle, five other statues were present, even larger ones, representing stylized, humanoid looking, mythical figures. Freedom. Unity. Equality. One whose name had been forgotten, each one of them holding huge torches that burned always. And in the middle, the largest of them all. An absolutely huge statue of the Colonial Eagle, with its wide wings open, standing with its claws on the War Cross, surrounded by laurels, itself over something that looked like a book, a representation of the Articles of Colonization.
The Colonials had their characteristics, but they always liked monumental things. And their Square and Dome were something to behold throughout the whole universe.
And after they finally reached the Dome, the cars stopped in a garage, and the Ambassadors were escorted out, the Minister explaining on the way about how the meeting is supposed to go, and that they would have to say something shortly in front of the Diet and the Council, each of them. He also warned them about the imensity of the place, but one could not completely believe it, until they entered.
This was nothing like the small building where the Parliament had to meet in an emergency session when the Invaders first attacked, due to the damage the Dome had suffered at the time. The space inside was a vastly, open, spherical space, probably with a diameter so large that from their position, one could barely see the opposite ends of the sphere. The building itself was probably one big sphere, although half of it was underground, giving it the appearance of a Dome from the surface.
Platforms, many platforms were floating everywhere in this gigantic, open space. Ordered, many where floating down below, in the lower part of the sphere, were the most of them were. That was the Federal Diet. Another group of platforms, the smallest one, was floating in the center of the sphere. That was the Federal Government. And up, in the upper part of the sphere, a medium group of platforms formed the Federal Council. The mobile floating platforms were holding the millions of Diet, Council, and Government members from all across the galaxy. Although the humans were the largest unitary group, countless races were visible here, from all across the Federation. Microphones, and holographic spheres allowed every platform to see and hear other platforms if necessary, even if they were kilometers apart in this huge space. This was the Parliament Dome.
And platform soon approached them, and the Ambassadors and their escorts entered it, before it started to move, floating towards the center of the sphere, where the members of the Federal Government where, including the Chancellor. While the platform floated, they took their seats, as the platform was doted with comfortable seats, multiple holographic projectors, computer terminals, and everything one would need. Each of the Ambassadors could command their own projectors to show in real time whatever part of the sphere they wanted to see, although when one talked in front of the Diet, or the Council, the platforms automatically showed it. As they approached, entering the formation of platforms belonging to the Government, they stopped next to the platform holding the Chancellor and her cabinet, and the Foreign Minister nodded, saluting the young human chancellor some of the Ambassadors knew from before. But unfortunately, the Chancellor had no time to talk to them right now, as the meeting began..
Everyone, today we are holding the 3434578th joint meeting of the Federal Council and the Federal Diet for the current political year. Please, stand and salute the anthem of the Federation.
And in one movement, millions of persons stood up in their respective platforms, some performing the traditional salute, some simply standing up, as the anthem began. It was
The Federal Anthem of the Colonies1
And as the last notes of the anthem were played, the members of the Diet, Government, and Council said their oaths. "We, the members of the Diet, Council and Government of the Federated Colonies, elected representatives of the will of the People, hereby swear to maintain the ideals of Unity, Freedom, and Equality upon which our Federation was built, to upheld the Articles of Colonization and the Federal laws in all situations, to make our decisions with the best interests of our citizens in mind, whose rights and obligations we will respect, doing all of this for the Federated Colonies we have sworn to protect. So say we all. "
I hereby declare the 3434578th joint meeting of the Federal Council and of the Federal Diet open. , the Announcer well, announced. We will begin by welcoming the Ambassadors that have joined us today, at the invitation of the Federal Chancellor. As their are now taking their positions as ambassadors of their respective nations at the Federation, we will hereby let them,if they so wish, to held a short speech or to say something about what they wish to accomplish as ambassadors here in the Colonies. Let's begin.
And now, with the attention of the Diet and the Council, and of its millions of members, focused more or less on the Ambassadors, they could tell what they had to tell. The meeting had begun.
1- the anthem itself only starts at about 1:40, but you can consider the entire song as the theme of the Colonies. I'm working on making a video dedicated to the Colonies using this song, but it will have to wait for when I get home.
Also, yes ,I would have used the Ode to Joy, but I simply wasn't able to find an instrumental version with a faster rhythm, so for now, the anthem of the Colonies is pending between the Ode to Joy, this theme from BSG, and the All Stars Burn as One of the Galactic Republic.

The first Ambassador to speak in Vasily Kalashnikov, Ambassador of the Commonwealth. For months he has studied soeaking and writing in Colonial Standard in irder to do his ambassadorial job better. But now with a myriad alien races present, especially with the other Ambassadors, he is now to speak in Galactic Standard.
"Greetings unto you, people of the Colonies. Greetings unto my fellow Ambassadors, Mellissa Lee, Bethany Rhodes, and Commander Zalion. Trully, I am amazed at the size of your political center. Back in the Stolitsa Gosudarstva, we have only at least one-twentieth of the amount of platforms. But now, as Ambassador of the Commonwalth to the Colonies, I say this: I expect to see a good future between our nations, regardless of what pasts we had. The Commonwealth, for centuries, has hidden itself in the shadows, and it takes an extragalactic threat to push us out of the dark. Our leaders aimed to prevent wars by isolation, but it culminated in the deaths of 10% of our populaton at the hands of cold-blooded beetles. Though we have recovered from that tragedy, we still refused to show ourselves, and only with the arrival of the Invaders have we done so."
He was cut off briefly by a cough, and he continued: "With our scientists in Karsopolis, and our warfleets ready at a moment's notice, the Commonwealth offers its best aid to the Alliance. I hope that will be able to repel the Abyssals with our combined might, and that our embassies will be essential to this victory..."

And after passing near countless and countless skyscrapers and buildings in this seemingly infinite planet-city, they reached it. The Freedom Square.
After the rantings of the colonial Lieutenant the Keltaken simply waved her words off showing no signs of anger or aggression that had been hard coded into the DNA of the Keltaken people, "You speak with such anger Lieutenant, it is not unwarranted but for now I am not your enemy. Your hatred is best placed somewhere else, as for your accomplishments while I shall admit are many a great ones indeed, your nation lacks true order ready to burst at the very seems over idiotic concerns where as the will of the Empire is focused and true always seeking its next great challange and if your way truly is superior to ours explain your loss at the hands of our soldiers in both of the last two intergalactic wars. A nation as grand and glorious as yours able to outshine my beloved Empire in every way still unable to defeat that which stands opposed to your idealism, in the Empire no one goes hungry, no one goes homeless, and no one goes without a place to work and provide for their family. It is true races are not given the same rights as the majority as us Keltakens however to quote, most people do not want freedom because freedom involves responsibility and most people are frightened by responsibility." as he finished his thought he was taken into a car and to a rather strange building with some interesting statues. Everything seemed rather interesting monuments to the ideals of the Colonies to be sure and in the wake of it all it all the colonials wasted time with trivial pursuits of their long dead ideology they clung to like rats on a sinking ship. When the time came for the Keltakens to give their part of the speech the Commandante stood up before the colonial diet, "Many of you will hate me without even knowing who I am, why i am here, or what im doing. Many of you are probably fighting yourself not to shoot me I wouldn't recommend it. The purpose of my being here today is to try and bridge the gap between Keltaken and colonial relations in an attempt to bring peace in this time of crisis. As well I bring weapons of the Empire to try and assist in the war effort, as well let it be known that the aid of the Empire depends on your willingness to cooperate. Since i have arrived i have seen very little end to the hatred of your people towards mine and me, simple questions answered with such hostility you might as well have just been shooting at me. So all I ask is a bit of respect, for you and your soldiers to swallow your pride and treat me and my kind as a fellow supporter of your coalition thank you for your time." he half expected to be shot right there as he began to step down, if he was killed however he had a rather nasty surprise for everyone in the building and he was willing to take the chance of killing a few ambassadors if the colonials where not willing to finally put aside their hatred and cooperate.

Internally, Rhodes was rather surprised by the size of the Colonies' political centre. The numerous eyes were all on her, and the Ambassador had never been the focus of this much attention before. The Confederacy hadn't seen gatherings like this since its second century of existence. Not political discussions of its own people, anyway.
Taking a deep breath and trying to focus on her purpose instead of the crowds, Rhodes steadied her voice and began to speak. She said in a calm tone of High Confederate, "To the people of the Colonies, thank you for allowing me to witness your proceedings. It's an honour. As for my fellow Ambassadors, greetings to you as well. I'm confident that between all of us, we'll ensure intergalactic cooperation."
She then took a deep breath and continued, "As you know, I am Ambassador Bethany Rhodes, and I've been sent to ensure positive relations between the Colonies and the Confederacy. I'd begin by pointing out that while we have some minor cultural differences, a great deal of common ground exists between our two nations. Firstly, we were both founded by colonists. Secondly, both of our nations have very strong militaries, which we've put to use making the universe a better place. With the combined might of all nations assembled, we can defeat the Invaders, our most shared goal of all."

Die Föderierte Kolonien "Einheit, Freiheit, und Glechheit!"
The Federated Colonies "Unity, Freedom, and Equality!"
After the ambassadors finished their short speeches, the reactions of the Federal Council and of the Federal Diet were... pretty diverse. Some of the dignitaries simply seemed to ignore them. A part of them, centered around the area occupied by the members of the Concordia, cheered on them, while other simply calmly applauded, with their hands, or with their tentacles, or with their wings, with whatever they had.. But a large half of the entire Dome remained.. quiet, the dignitaries there simply looking at the ambassadors.. with hate... with anger... with disgust.. that was the conservative Bellum faction, of course.. But while the ambassadors said their speeches, two soldiers brought another person on their platform, but one that was wearing a hooded coat that managed to completely hide its appearance and its face, although it looked human at a first glance. The figure remained quiet as it joined the group formed by the ambassadors and the Colonials, and rather respectfully, all the Colonials saluted, even the Minister. The figure lightly tilted its head in a gesture of approval, but it remained silent, and soon, the meeting continued. We thank the Ambassadors for their speeches, and wish them good luck in their work. Now, to move on, we have a motion proposed by the Bellum faction. Presenting the motion, Milvoj von Esmarch, General Secretary of the Supreme Sovereign Council of the The Sovereign Kraljvanian Republics.
After the announcement, the focus was put on a certain dignitary that stood up, preparing his speech. Through the holographic screen, the ambassadors were able to see that he was a young human male, with dark blue hair, and sickly yellow eyes.. rather similar to somebody else around.. he was sitting among the Federal Council, and he was apparently going to propose something... and despite his usual aura of calm, the Federal Foreign Minister did seem a little worried.. Most esteemed members of the Federal Council, of the Federal Diet, and of the Federal Government... today, we unfortunately haven't met only to listen to the speeches of the new Ambassadors.... no matter how well they sounded, they are still filled with lies.. but we are here to discuss a more pressing issue. The clear incompetence of our government.
As the man started to speak, the members of the Bellum faction started to cheer on him. "Our current government has proven more than enough that it has failed to deal with our current crisis. They failed to use our armed forces properly, leading to our huge losses in this war, and have forced us to ally with our former enemies... a part of our worlds lay in ruin, lost. Billions have died. Millions of ships were lost. The Armed Forces have fought bravely, but this Government has only weakened them. The Bundesmark has declined with 35% percent from its course one year ago. Our economy has been turned into a way economy, but with huge problems, and this has led to a major decline for all our companies. The admission of so many refugees has once again led to overpopulation in many of our worlds, only aggravating the already existing issues of pollution, and this can be seen the best here, on Xalion. Famine is threatening us as the synthetic food factories are unable to follow the demand. Our nation is weakened. Our nation has been weakened by them and their incompetence."
Slowly but surely, more and more people started to cheer on him, not only from the Bellum faction . Not before long, most of the people in the Dome were up and standing, cheering. It seemed that the current Federal Government really, really wasn't popular.. and this explained the cold atmosphere in the Dome before the meeting had started. "And now, they crossed the line. Our delegation at the Conference is ready to ally our nation completely with our former enemies, even as they demand our technology and knowledge.. they have allowed a damned Keltaken to step on Xalion, the very place that represents the ideals for which our people died against that bastard reptilians! They have allowed an Acruani, one of the AI's which has helped the Keltakens in their hideous crimes.. who now dares to walk around here looking like one of us.. a Confederate ambassador, from the human nation that has forgotten its origins, and betrayed Mankind helping its enemies! This has crossed the line, this has gotten too far! They want us to forget and to forgive.. to work towards peace.. while the billions of dead souls are screaming for their revenge! How can we allow something like this to happen? They have betrayed our very ideals, our very reason of existence as a nation, by inviting our enemies here!"
The Chancellor simply watched, seeming to have completely lost control over the situation, and the Announcer, the old man next to her, seemed pretty stressed.. and now, a majority of the people here were cheering. "This has to stop now. The current Federal Government and Chancellery have broken the trust of our nation, have worked with the enemies of the Colonial Federal State, and made decisions against the People of the Colonies! In accordance with the Articles of Colonization that serve as the Constitution of the Colonial Federal Republic, I hereby propose a vote of no confidence against Chancellor Laura Meisner, and a motion of censorship against the current Federal Government. So say we all! "
So say we all! A huge portion of the Dome erupted, as the man finished his triumphant speech. Trying to remain in control, the Announcer continued, rather vaguely though. Uhm.. in accordance with the Articles of Colonization, Secretary General von Esmarch has the right to request it, and he is backed by at least a quarter of the Federal Diet, hereby meeting the necessary requirements... we will now vote on the 159/345th Motion, a vote of no confidence against the current Chancellor Laura Meisner, and a motion of censorship against the current Government.. please vote.
The situation suddenly became incredibly tense, as everyone started to vote... and that's when the figure said something for the first time, in a really calm and serene, female sounding voice. "Ah, they are about to make such a mistake and they don't know it.. like children.", the figure said, in a rather low voice, but still loud enough for the Ambassadors to hear. And as everyone voted, and the votes were counted... silence covered the Dome. A cold... tense, silence. Everyone voted... and we have counted the votes. The Announcer started to say. "The 159/345th Motion, a vote of no confidence against the current Chancellor Laura Mesiner, and a motion of censorship against the current Government.. the results are 52% yes... 30% no, and 18% abstains... the motion has passed."
As the Dome erupted in cheering, except for certain parts of the Concordia faction, the Chancellor, or better said, the former Chancellor, fell back into her chair, fully realizing what had just happened. The Federal Council and the Federal Diet hereby remove Chancellor Laura Meisner from her position, ending the current Federal Government. Elections will be held as soon as possible, and until then.. wait, what are you doing?
The sudden interruption was made as something that looked like a flare rocket was shot up in the middle of the sphere, between the platforms, exploding into blue-red-blue, the colors usually used by the Colonial Armed Forces for identification.. and suddenly, all the soldiers in the Dome, and there were many of them, around ten on each platform.. pointed their rifles at the dignitaries. On the platform with the ambassadors, lieutenant von Esmarch took out her pistol pointing it at the Federal Foreign Minister, while the other soldiers pointed their weapons at the Ambassadors, with nobody firing however. The blonde haired Colonial officer also took out his pistol and pointed it especially at the Acruani ambassador. "Please stay calm ambassadors, this is just a measure of precaution to ensure that you will not intervene. You will not be harmed. I swear it on my honor as an officer of the Kriegsflotte. ", the officer said. The (former) Federal Foreign Minister simply raised his tentacles, smiling, still seeming to be pretty calm. "Oh well, I guess that I pretty much lost my job..", he said. And as this happened, a platform moved forward.. stopping in the middle of the sphere, next to the one holding the (former) Chancellor, and the (former) members of the Government. The platform was filled with SPEKO soldiers, and was led by two human officers, who looked like siblings.. a young woman with a waist long blonde hair, and dark, blue eyes, wearing the blue-red uniform of the Kriegsflotte with the rank of a Konteradmiral, and with the Colonial War Cross, 1st Class. Next to her was a younger boy, with a messy, sandy blonde hair and light blue eyes, wearing an uniform of the Kriegsflotte too, but with the rank of a Kommodore. The two of them seemed to be siblings.. The platform attached itself to the other, and the SPEKO soldiers quickly secured and seemed to arrest the former Chancellor and members of the Government, while the soldiers in the rest of the platform simply remained with their weapons ready. Taking the place of the announcer, the woman started to speak. "Most esteemed members of the Federal Council and of the Federal Diet.. I am Irisdina Bernhard, Konteradmiral der Kriegsflotte. What happened here today has clearly shown that the Federal Diet and the Federal Council no longer have the capability to lead this country out of the war, and new elections can't be held, not now, with the enemies so close. It seems that the democracy has reached its final stages of insanity.. in order to protect the Federated Colonies and our ideals, we, the Colonial Armed Forces, hereby declare a complete martial law all across the Colonies, and the dissolution of the Diet and of the Council."
You can't do that! Are you trying to perform a coup? This is against the!
The Announcer never finished saying what he wanted to, as the soldiers took him away. "You can call this however you want.", the boy, Kommodore Albert Bernhard, said. " But we will lead this nation to victory, no matter what the means. So say we all!" And in one voice, all the soldiers in the Dome, including the dark blue haired KOLSI officer and the Sternenkapitän said in one voice. SO SAY WE ALL!
In one swift move, the Colonial Armed Forces had won the power in the Federation.

30% no, and 28% abstains... the motion has passed."
In one swift move, the Colonial Armed Forces had won the power in the Federation.
"I would suggest you don't point those at me" The Keltaken ambassador slowly moved through the panic, he made no attempt to stop what was going on but simply watched recording the goings on with a camera in his helmate. In truth this was a largely bitter sweet feeling. It showed that the Keltakens where right, truly in times of crisis Democracy could not stand, it would crumble under the weight of its own hubris. "This will put an end to many things in the Empire that is for certain." The Keltaken kept his arms down moving slowly that the military forces could track him, the last thing he wanted to do was be shot while simply trying to observe. Walking slowly and calmly up to one of the armed guards the Keltaken spoke in a dark almost sinister voice yet meant no real harm, "Who is the new commanding offical of this then, if you ware under martial law I would like to see the person responsible for all of this" He stood up straight and stretched himself out his long black reptilian figure obscured by his armor as he continued to look around, trying not to make it obvious that he was looking at all of the faced of those present. Most of them looked terrified others seemed oddly happy, needless to say this footage would put down any true thought of democracy in the Empire once it was shown. The Keltaken Ambassador simply continued to watch more astonished at the sight, "You humans never cease to amaze me...Perhaps the Keltakens truly can co-exist with the humans after all...then again I will have to reserve judgement for once i meet the leader of this little operation.." snapping his neck again he waited deciding simply to sit down his tail curling and uncurling behind him as he watched as the Democratic process of the Colonials be thrown out of the window to save the Colonial as a whole, "A smart choice, I can only wonder how many of them will truly capitalize on this experience." He could only wonder.

"Oh well...", said Vasily Kalashnikov as he found a gun pointed at him. "Democracy was worse than I expected. I just hope that this martial law wouldn't be bad as it sounds to me.""
Vasily pulled out what looked like a hologram projector from his pocket, but it was not a hologram projector, as the people around would see. He dropped it to the ground, and the moment it struck the ground, a full-blown energy shield erupted from the device. It would protect him from any shot(He doesn't trust von Esmarch much). He then spoke in a voice with mixed annoyance... and a tone of congratulations?
"Please. Me and my country have nothing to do with your wars in the past. Leave me and the Commonwealth out of this strife. There is nothing I can do to intervene with anything here, anyway."
He raised his robotic right hand and said rather calmly this time, "Oh, and I think you just stopped the radicals here from making the Colonies leave the Armada. I congratulate you, though I'd rather have it done some other way."

The Acruani was not deeply compelled to speech to the conference. What was there for her to say? She knew that there was nothing that she could say that would change their minds... but being told that the Acruani were copying their form? Were the ones here just stupid or misinformed. She even went out of her way to make a body that seemed much like the body she had all those centuries ago to listen to something as ignorant as that. The fact that anyone cheered the man one was depressing.
When they coup began, pleased was the most accurate description of her feelings. Not only because this would give a higher chance that the Colonies would remain in the Armada, unless someone did something rather stupid there. This little chaos also gave her the impression that she would have her chances to do some, secondary objectives, while in the Capital. Nothing for her to worry while having guns pointed at her though she truly trusted the Colonial to keep his word.
"Congratulations on doing what your nation and its people needs." She smiled at the officer, "Though I don't appreciate the gun being pointed at me, I have to say that I do hope that both this government and the following one is able to both cope with the war and with the people of this nation. Then again, who am I to ask for the people of this nation to act on its own best interests." He then sighed the most artificial sigh ever done, "I hope that our nations remain cooperating in the future."
(Pardon me for the lack of color that usually fills my post.)

"Oh, not to worry," Rhodes said calmly to the officer guarding her. "You'll have no interference from me. I understand very well governments doing what they must for the greater good."
Inwardly, Rhodes smiled. While the martial law was a bit unexpected, she approved. It had been a similar scene in local legislatures all across the Confederacy during her childhood. Order came first then, and it did now. It was also something reminiscent of what Director Silva would do, if needed.
She eventually said to the guard, "So this changing of the guard is rather interesting. Tell me, if your orders will permit it, was the Hegemon involved in the decision, or is his authority also being suspended? If you cant answer, I understand."

As this entire thing continued, despite being under the threat of weapons, many of the members of the Diet and of the Council tried to protest, while the Counter Admiral had a short discussion with the (former) Chancellor, who then took the microphone. "We have just checked.. this action is constitutional.", she declared. "The Articles of Colonization allow the Colonial Armed Forces to declare martial law for six months, when the very existence of the Colonies is threatened. I suggest to everyone to follow the indications of the military forces, and obey the martial law for as long as it will be in place."
And with that, pretty much any attempt to oppose it ended. The Articles were the law, the base of the Colonies. If an action was constitutional, that was it. There was nothing they could do. The Counter Admiral smiled.
"Our action here must not be interpreted as an attack towards the democracy or the ideals of the Colonial Federal State. With the final battle of our war against the Invaders closing in, we must focus all our efforts towards it, or we will be lost. For that reason, the Colonial Armed Forces will temporarily ensure martial law. Once the war is over, the martial law will be abolished, and the power will be returned to the Federal Council and the Federal Diet. God bless the Federated Colonies."
And so, the soldiers slowly started to escort the dignitaries out of the Dome. The Colonies were now under martial law.
And then, another officer approached the group of Ambassadors, while a group of soldiers quietly escorted the hooded figure from earlier and the former Foreign Minister out. The female officer had a bright, waist long blonde hair that almost seemed to sparkle, and bright blue eyes. She was wearing a Colonial female officer's tailcoat-style uniform, in the color scheme of the hegemonic units of the Kriegsflotte, dark gray with gold, complete with a dark gray skirt, a dark gray with gold necktie, golden buttons, thigh-high military boots, black gloves, a Colonial military officer peaked hat worn a little casually. A holster by her right hip contains what seems to be a Colonial officer pistol pistol, and the mandatory Colonial officer sword in a sheathe by her left hip. She was followed by two Colonial Star Guards in their light blue-red uniforms.
"There is no single commanding officer, Keltaken.", the female officer said, clearly disgusted simply by having to stay near a reptilian. "Even under martial law, we are still a democracy. The Central High Command of the Federal Armed Forces will take control of the Federation for the time being. If you have any complaints, send it to the Z.O.K." Looking at the Keltaken ambassador for a few moments, the officer then approached him. "It would also be really good if you would stop recording what's happening here, and return the video to us. I have no idea for what weird propaganda purpose you're trying to use this, but you're breaking the law. Don't make us arrest you. You're in the Colonies, so even backward reptiles like you must follow the laws of the Colonial Federal Republic."
The officer then looked at the Commonwealth ambassador. "As I believe that my comrades here have said, we have no plans to shoot you, so calm down.", she said, before looking at the Acruani officer, while the Star Captain, still aiming his pistol at Melissa, answered her. "We have no need for your congratulations, lady Ambassador. While I understand that you might not like having a gun pointed at you, this is as much for your own safety as it is for ours.", he said.
Having finished looking at the ambassadors, the female officer heard the question of the Confederate ambassador. "The Hegemon is the supreme commander of the Colonial Armed Forces. His authority is not suspended. In fact, the Hegemon is the only one who can request martial law, as he just did."
The female officer than finally presented herself. "I am Retia Wedelkind, Kommandant in the Colonial War Fleet and Officer of the General Staff. The Hegemon has sent me here to make sure that none of you ambassadors comes to harm in this situation. We are going to escort each of you to your respective embassies. Unfortunately now that the martial law has been declared, you won't be able to contact your homelands. For the time being, we recommend that you stay inside your embassies, as we might not be able to control everything that happens on the streets."

"While I understand the need to ensure that we do not interfere negatively on the situation and I don't mind the weapon being pointed at this body," The Acruani Ambassador spoke politely and calmly, "I wish to request a final contact with the Collective as the unannounced cessation of communication between me and the others. Though I understand if it is beyond your knowledge, but severing a part of the Collective, a number of beings of information is..." For a moment the Acruani truly seemed to lack the exact words required for the situation, "A crime among the worst that could be committed against an Acruani, regardless of circumstance."
Melissa smiled lightly, "Therefore, I must request formally to announce to the Collective that in this situation I have permitted myself to remain in such situation and that there will be no further attempts of communication until the end of this lawfully enacted martial law. This way there can be no negative Acruani repercussions due to the severing of the connection between me and my peers. I would like to request for my escorts still in this system to be allowed to return to their systems of origin as my Embassy has landed and is in process of settling itself, there is no longer a need for them to remain in this system."
Meanwhile, at the site separated for the Acruani Embassy, the Acruani ship had landed for a while. Scans both done from space and land would clearly reveal that it did follow protocols that forbid use of nuclear powered devices into the planet. Other than shielding units and possibly a gravity generation device that wouldn't be harmful to a celestial body of the size of Xalion, or even anything beyond a few meters into the exterior of the ship, the Acruani ship had nothing. Other than its engines and defense systems, the ship had nothing combat worthy, and even the engines didn't seem to be of a kind that would harm even a healthy planet.
Even then as the ship landed, it seemed to open and morph slightly, becoming more tear shaped before 'blooming'. Regardless of reason, the ship slowly opened as relatively thin petals started to open to its side before coming to the ground making nearly no sound. While from far away the building would look very much like an absurdly large metallic silver lotus, it was easy enough to see an entrance for those who were just outside the Embassy, soon enough Eka and Ercan were in front of it, looking outside. Obviously, they were waiting for the Acruani that had arrived early in the transports.

"I will do no such thing, and if you wish to remain among the living you will shut up, You are not as superior as you would think and if you honestly wish to shoot me dead now i will assure you i will do everything in my power to kill as many of you humans along with me as possible. I am tierd of being talked to like a second grade life form when all i have done is show your people respect from the moment i landed, so if you do not wish to know what it feels like to have a keltakens tail rip your thorough that Kavaoi (Keltaken word for fucking) skull of yours i suggest you swallow your tounge right now because i am one more insult away from requesting we let this invader problem remain a colonial thing and as much as your kind will detest to admit it you need my kind and our population to help fight this war. So if you would like to continue in your prejudice as well as the rest of your kind can all burn in Joavi for all I care. You humans and your self righteous attitude we keltakens will at least attempt to make friends before resorting to our level of violence, we are no saints but your kind has done more to start another war between our kind then your ever has...So if you seek to detain me for any reason while your little shit shake of a back water "democracy" still needs mine then i can assure you when your all dieing and wanting to help our armada will be the farthest thing you will get from assistance...and I can assure you now this is no threat but a promise. Take this message to your leader because so help me if i hear so much as a fucking whimper against my kind by so called soldiers my next report will be about a full withdrawl of all support. My kind would rather die then assist an ungreatful self righteous race like yours, we would rather all burn then save a single one of your disgusting kind i hope ive made myself clear." With that the Inquisition member began to beam transmit what had happen to his flagship for storage, the true hatred of the colonials had finally gotten under the skin of one Keltaken with the power to truly do something, if inquisitional members set forth a proposal it would go directly to the Emperor for his opinion. As the Eyes and Ears of the Empire these members often had intense power and where only able to submit proposals if they truly felt it was a serious issue. Not only here was this a problem but even a goshwaken commandante had reported on the aggression still commonplace in colonial soldiers and was asking if the support should be reviewed even given the threat of the invaders. The Keltakens where getting sick of the colonials hatred and many had started to question fighting along side them for fear of being shot in the back by human soldiers. This if not checked would send rippled through the empire, unbeknownst to the keltakens however, this might just spell their downfall in the future. For now however it would be yet to see as the 13 head inquisition members had suddenly disappered along with their most elite guard, High up rumors where that they where all set into stasis with other high value keltakens encase the empire should need them in the future...encase they failed.
