Meanwhile in hyperspace headed for dartha....
In the process of a keltaken mass jump the Daga fleet had been delayed, whIle not timely the jump served as a good way to keep all weapons active and fighters at the ready by pooling jump power instead of having to use a ton of power. This fleet was more of a humanitarian aid as compared to its counterpart that was already there...
In this fleet all soldiers had sworn off lethal means of attack in favour of stun weaponry. As a member of the hoods they prized the preservation of like and only took life under extreme circumstances. One of those such keltakens was one who would soon establish himself as a major power in the hoods even if he didn't know it...this keltakens name is Korava. He is a vanguard class Keltaken one of the best of his status second only to throne guard and the Empress herself.
"Now then...looks like everything is ready...just have to hope the new stun rounds perform as practiced.." Korava like most Vanguard snd especially mech user keltakens where given a AI to assist them. The alliance with the Acrunai had proven to be a most helpful one for the hoods. With the help of the Acrunai they hoped to share a more none lethal way of handling situations to all keltakens. A species bred for war was slowly changing, some where seeking different paths even if they where to afraid to say it openly. "Now then..can we run the start up procedure?" He ask his AI compatriot who was currently hooked into the Mech he was working on.
The tired Keltaken had been working hard to keep all of the systems operational on some of the Mechs, he didn't get much help sadly because of the preparations. Daga and the rest of the hoods where going over strategy and the rest of the keltakens where either to busy with other work or thought things where just well enough as it. So it fell to Korava and his AI to follow through with it all.
Over the years now that the intigration with the AI species the keltaken have grown to view them as equals, a feat not easily achived by most species in the keltaken eyes. Then again it didn't matter much to the hoods, no matter who you where they where the most compassionate of the keltakens strange in a war race. Then again all races had their outcasts. At least that is how this sect of the Inquisition was viewed, perverts and outcasts who would readily accept near about anyone if they could, where some keltakens would find mates with other species simply for genetic benefits the hoods do it for the purpose of love. A truly strange concept to the rest of the race, they where all outcasts in the same boat.

The alliance with the Keltaken gave quite a bit of work and deeply diversified the possible functions an Acruani could exert. While on most place throughout the Keltaken Empire the Acruani took very passive roles helping, be it with targeting systems or merely more efficient data allocation and distribution, the Acruani still had the chances of taking far more active cooperating roles working with mech pilots and ship captains. Not all too strangely for those who knew the Acruani well enough, they took pride even in the most menial jobs. (Stories explaining how a piece of ore could reduce the output of a factory just enough for a subpar armor to be installed on a ship would be destroyed one round earlier than it could, leading to the destruction of a fleet would also be told to explain why they were proud.)
In a certain mech being piloted by a Keltaken called Korava, Khan'na, his personal Acruani replied, "According to my estimates, the stun rounds should work perfectly. Don't worry. Everything is ready for the procedure." Khan'na like most Acruani seemed very simple. As Korava could have noticed over the time working with her, they tended to just to do what they were set to do and liked answering questions (especially the rhetorical ones). The HUD would soon show that this mech, like many of the other ones individually check, was truly ready to use.

The HUD would soon show that this mech, like many of the other ones individually check, was truly ready to use. "We have come out of our mass jump, seems Karraka beat us here and he's been slaughtering the Darthan traitors...May they be reborn to fight again in a different life." he sighed and with all of the checks finished he was able to relax at least for a little while, "Do you Acruani have fanatics like us Khan'na?" he asked it as a truly curious question. "I mean, we have all these massive hatred for other species most of all we know is war and your a machine. An outsider looking in, your view's are different then mine so maybe you can tell me who you think is right?" Most keltakens under the command of Daga lived a completely different life then their brothers or sisters. It was more calm, more focused on social behavior then war.

"We have our own outliers. Though from an outsider's point of view, the Acruani seem by most are the outliers... or as you say, fanatics." An absence of words could be vaguely heard as she paused, "In general, Acruani prefer to work with nonsentients. For some of us, the number of variables sentients bring are too much to be considered good. And to seek such chaotic sources of data, other than the oldest ones of us, most of us who like interacting with sentients could be said to be fanatics. But in our case, though my opinions differs from others, I can't see how they would be wrong. Merely different... Which is why I can't say that we have anything greater than outliers."
Khan'na ponders briefly on the last question, "I can't say which one of you are wrong. While you may be very friendly for you race, you may just have such behaivor because of the general aggressiveness of your race. The Keltaken as a whole have been clearly tampered to become more warlike. I'm sure that if solid attempts to change such behavior like how Zara and Zlasa made a few years ago, I'm sure that such behavior could also be changed." She pauses briefly, "I can still say that even then it isn't something inherintingly Keltaken to be of war. It is the mentality your race has as a society. If you and those of this Chapter keep working, you may find success in your attempts to change your race."

"That information might be in the archives, however even the inquistion doesn't have clearance for that kind of information into our past." It was true that the Keltakens where forcibly exposed to more dangerous predators on their home world wither they knew it or not...however any records of the past before the nuclear fire which destroyed their planet or the true reason behind it was under heavy encryption. "Even still the life of a soldier is just how we have always known. Their has to be a different path, we have been running out of enemies and those others we do have are our greatest friends such as the Confederation."
Standing up an announcement played in pure Keltaken, " kulknej have defeaavun avhe avraiavoruk, avhe planeav iuk liberaavun buav shum ayh ro avhe avraiavoruk puav avo deaavh shal ij moukav averrible waausan. kulknej liwo fighav par, kulknej ayh kelavaken kulknej liwo ukpread avhe meukukage kulknej have been given. kulknej muukav hope avhaav peace comeuk avo avhem agh avo avhe warrioruk."
"Well then that looks like to be the end of this conflict for now...i wonder what Karraka will do now.."

If the Acruani did go through such possibly heavy encryption, it wasn't a known fact. Or at least, Khan'na didn't know about it. It was simply what she could predict based on the knowledge she had. And she had quite a bit of it. "Your race as a whole is intelligent, it just needs to change focus. Though there should be contingencies in case there are no enemies left for you to fight. All you need to do, is try new things and explore. Exploration of new places and ways is what can truly allow a race to improve itself. You will find your way if you keep looking for it."
"Considering Daga's standing as is, hopefully, there will be no further bombings or friendly fire. Considering his recent actions, he is expected to be censored." She pauses briefly... even longer than usual, "The future is too uncertain, take care of yourself... Korava."

"It could be worse, I could be stuck on Karraka's ship last i heard he shot his second in command for losing at a game of spikeuk agh thornuk" Every now and then the Acruani would feel her sensors go in and out and her translator stop working, "Anyway, we all need to be very careful these next few months the Imperium will be at a standstill for 3 weeks and the Goshwaken will take command. Mating season is going to hit the crew hard, its a luck they don't choose to steralize us so we don't suffer the effects of the heat." It was around the time, which was why the empire seemed ready for war once again, with every boom in population the old saying was continued, "Expand or die" it was a sad truth that Keltakens had learned to deal with one way or another. "The Goshwakens will be coming to check the ship and we will have to pull out of the system most likely. Hopefully this conflict doesn't continue for another two months or things won't be pretty.."

An Acruani certainly wouldn't need a translator to understand what a game of spike and thorn is, nor would they need to do an extensive research to understand how trigger-happy Karraka. Regardless one would still need to wonder what the hell is spike and thorn. "Yes, I'm even saddened for the few Acruani in that ship, there are better people to work with. But I'm always glad to study your mating season, and the societal changes brought by each coming of the Goshwaken."
"I'm almost sure they will do, I'd think that Overseer Zara would have told Zora to, pull back someone such as Karraka considering the situation. But if it hasn't happened, it isn't meant to be yet." Yet another pause was made by Khan'na, "I do wonder if my new model will be arriving before your mating season, however. The new generation available for Rank 7s was truly incredible in the simulations. But I do wonder how the final models will be. I left a file with it for you to give input in any changes you think would make it better accepted among the crew."

The Keltaken could only blush at the words of the Acruani, "You machines are very strange, over the time of our alliance word of the curiosity of your people and the mating season have always been odd. Always so interested, perhaps one of my requests to the new models will be that you shall be able to join with the season and experience it first hand." he was mostly joking but half serious, it might be something some of them could enjoy. Then again he could never truly understand the machines and how they operated. New bodies where soon to be arriving for the Acruani, ever since the last war with the colonials finding vessels for them was a priority. This way the Crew could better interact with them. Those who where set with Inquistion members where either lucky or in the ones in Karraks care...disturbingly unlucky. "Rumors spread you know about the Acruani on Karraka's ship, that they are different more violent. I wonder if this is an effect of being exposed to Keltaken Brutality at it's finest so to speak. What do you have to say about it? If nothing do you have any questions for me today, your always so inquisitive."

"Oh, I did think about it, but I think only me and the other upper ranks can get requests of, such caliber through. I'll be sure to press for them to properly make my body, the synthetic fibers were certainly appropriate for a variety of actions." A few snickers rare snickers could be heard from the Acruani, "But we aren't strange, we only seek to learn, and the information that isn't handed to us, we have to go out and seek. And seek we must. Though among the things I do wonder about is that game, Spike and Thorn, sincerely, I do wonder why the Overseer keeps placing such odd things in higher securities, I know she wants us to interact more, but even things such as it."
The bodies would certainly be there soon, while most were simple models of a newer generation of mobile units, overall, they still were very generic. Unlike older generations, however. rank 7 and over Acruani had, a brief view into the more experimental units which allowed them to an incredible degree of customization. Be it in shape and function. "Hmm... them... It is only natural, we absorb data, knowledge... ideas and ideals... I can't say that we are easily swayed in general, but I have to say that we are open to a variety of courses of actions. Or have you never wondered, how even ships equipped with Acruani allowed missions to be great genocides to go on? Though there are reasons for us Acruani beyond our simple personal thoughts, we also tend to accept... and become... more connected with those we are around. That may be why I am as I am. Or why the Acruani who keep themselves isolated, are simply... bland, by the terms of those in better synergy with organics. Sincerely, I'd prefer if not as many of us had jobs so focused in make death as efficient as it is, but each one of us, both you and me, have a place in our societies. And the one of the more brutal Acruani is, simply to improve the experience of those around them, as is my job. We just need to employ different methods. Then again..." She almost begins to rant, if what she said hasn't gone to the rant-zone yet, "If we switched places as I am now, I would be unable to comply with them and would attempt to change them, sadly." She then gets quiet as if thinking about the situation as a whole.

She then gets quiet as if thinking about the situation as a whole. "It is a game played by many Keltaken, it is a gambling game of sorts however you will never see it played on this vessel or any other in our chapter for the simple fact we lact what is necessary to play the game. Spike and Thorn is so named because of the usual spiked tails of Inquisiton member or the single pointed thorns of a usual keltaken civilian or soldier. It is often used as well as a way to settle arguments between class of keltaken being a game impossible to cheat at without getting caught. Using only your tail you must see which can batter down targets as the two rival keltakens make their way down a corridor of the ship. These set targets are monitored to ensure no cheating occurs not that it is necessary, it is a game that requires speed and accuracy as you are only allowed to make one run and you must make it to the end of the corridor within 1.3 seconds of the other and accumulate a higher number of points. If a Keltaken is unable to run or chooses not to a loyal second may be chosen to run for him, the targets are changed as depending on the tail of the runner. It is a very old game, and one that is taken very seriously on Karraka's ship." he smiled and couldn't help but smile, Acruani adapt very quickly, where as a keltaken adapts as new blood is found, "You know its strange...as you say your kind adapt to your surroundings...We Keltaken prize genes over blood, we will possibly never know what a true Pureblood Keltaken looks like with our genetics...even still i wonder what a Keltaken mixed with an Acruani would look like if such a thing was possible."

"Oh, quite an interesting game, that does explain why those under me didn't get information on it. We don't have it on the ship. Hmm..." The Acruani ponders a few moments on the game then on Karraka's words, "A proper genetic mixing between us, can't be quite made. It is easier for a Keltaken to become and Acruani, than otherwise. The process isn't open for use until anyone requests it however. While it be hard to comprehend, calling Acruani a race of machines, is... not the most proper way, though we do not care, we truly are more comfortable in boundlessness of our networks and within the Database. But... consider us, creatures of pure mind. Or simply minds without a body shackling it down, or time weakening its performance, though Keltaken don't seem to be affected by time as immediately as other races... Minds can mix easily enough. Acruani as you know are mostly minds of other Acruani mixed together with each other to make new, proper Acruani. Any two minds can do that with proper help in fact. It is only that we, don't grow as organics do."
"To an Acruani, Ranks are... something we can move through depending on ourselves over time. For example Overseer Zara, had the chance to advance to Rank 8, just after interacting with the Keltaken Archive, she was a newborn by Acruani terms before that, and then she was Zara, THE Keltaken Overseer. Meanwhile me, I only obtained Rank 7 due to a few decades of asteroid mining, another of proliferation through system, until I had a solid unit to move on. Another whole century repeating the process and analyzing endless data, I breached from the Rank 6 to the 7th. Then here I came, forward to my 8th rank, though I'm already as far as I can go without extraordinary circumstances... such as you becoming the leader of this Chapter, or leading some history changing event, as seen by the Database. Or just uncovering some ancient Database with endless unique data for me. The later, I would be more than glad to accept, then again we don't work in the exploration of the unknown, do we?" Khan'na chuckled briefly.

I might be a Vanguard but that is likely as far as i may go for a very long time, I am young by Keltaken standards only about 112 still a the very earliest stages of my life. As you said yourself we do not feel the effects of short life like many other races, therefore we have all to wait a long time and work very hard on our leaves if we wish to be given grand status. However let us not worry about this, we have been assigned to the next transport down onto the planet with supplies." He smiled and then looked over the mech, "Do you want to take the mech out this time or would you rather that we go out in your old body? Our own resupply should be coming within the weeks once the Goshwakens arrive along with your new body" Everything was set and ready, the forces of Daga where slowly helping those down below on the planet to return to their lives, however Karraka and his group started to grow restless...they wanted conflict...they wanted action...soon it would likely boil over if not sated soon somehow

"It would be better if I went with my old unit, in case there is any problem with the Drathians, it would be better to be able to communicate with a body rather than a warmachine. I'll will transferring myself to it now, please wait a moment until I move it here." Soon enough, a mobile unit moved into the hangar, it was much like the generic mobile units, a humanoid body with visible sythetic muscle-like structures under sparse sets of some kind of white plate. The head mostly covered by a helmet-like bit with a single ocular sensor in its front. The only difference from the generic unit were the golden trims on the armor, and the golden sensor. Other than that she had the same simple androgynous body of every other Acruani mobile unit in the ship.
"It truly is far different from the newer model. The specs are truly too low." The Acruani sighed before asking, "Should we be going now then?"

The Acruani sighed before asking, " Should we be going now then?" A warning began to shoot off over the vessel warning about the situation that was going on needless to say this left alot of Keltakens scratching their heads. Far as they knew they where fighting terroists and in truth all felt even those in daga's group that those people deserved what they where getting. They where traitors, people who deserved a death befitting of their crime. "Some thing we Keltakens may never learn, like why a Darthan would protect a traitor, or why the Prolacti can sell just about anything...Well we are still going down, the supplies have to be given out and we will be protected if they really don't want these supplies then im still going to do what i can to make sure people are cared for, Darthans are members of the Empire and its ally im not going to abandon them simply because of one idiot who enraged them." With thata team was assembling to get ready to drop the next load of supplies most suspected not to come back.
