Homeworld: Aquaria
Allegiances: None
Lifespan: 2 days - 200 years
Appearance: Humanoid body shapes. Skin is oily aside from around the hand, and is often a shade of light green or blue, but is not limited to these colors. Feet are amphibious in shape, They possess muscular legs, four arms (and in rare cases, six), gills along the chest region and on the neck, and double lenses over their eyes.
(Pictures are examples, and not exact images of the race. Like, really. I'm not going to straight up rip Davy Jones and Aayla Secura say "I MADE DAT XDDD")
Difference between the sexes: Males, (left) are stockier and generally larger, and possess a mesh of tentacles around the facial region, which allows for filter feeding. They are more prone to crustacean-based mutations such as developing mandibles, claws, and exoskeleton chitin over developed muscle. Females, (Right) Possess two to six large, muscular tentacles on the back of their head which enables them to more actively pursue prey, make sharp turns whilst in the water, and collect filtered food as they travel. Females do not have breasts, as they are not mammals, however they do possess swim bladders which more often than not, can be mistaken for breasts. They are more prone to shark-based mutations, such as developing dorsal fins, leathery skin, or sharp, carnivorous teeth. Males do not have swim bladders, and as a result, are generally more muscular due to the constant need to swim manually. Reproductive organs between both of the sexes are internal. Females are more prone to hunting and gathering towards the shallows, whilst males are more prone to doing so in the deeps.
Reproduction: When the time comes to reproduce, females deposit eggs in mass hatcheries, guarded by a communal group of guards of generally males. During this time, males guard and fertilize the eggs while females continue to hunt and gather. Reproduction is not a regular occurring event, but usually happens when the population dwindles, or a generation is dying off.
Tools and weapons: Many Lovecraftians simply use their already muscular hands or evolved mutations for their work, but many have developed stasis-based weaponry allowing the live harvest of fish. When hunting for larger game, Lovecraftians will use harpoon guns wired to a power core, enabling them to shock their prey, should they not succumb to the harpoon itself. Building tools are often small and compact, they usually fit around the wrist or are handheld. Integration between digital construction and rearranging material at the most basic levels allow them to essentially 3-D print structures. This has also proven to be a significant leap in the medical field, as simple tissue can be used to construct artificial organs, and at times, entire people. This attributes to their long life span and lack of reliance on traditional reproduction.
Diet: Lovecraftians are omnivores, with a cornerstone of their diet being fish and plants.
Abilities: Lovecraftians are inherently skilled swimmers. They retained the evolutionary ability to produce a cloud of ink at a whim, and the ability to administer paralysis inducing venom into their prey. Despite this, the majority of their evolution was centered around their brain structure. When they are not hunting or constructing, Lovecraftians generally gather in masses to debate or discuss.
