Several hours later
Ahana soon came to again, confusion settling in her mind as she discovered that she was back in the village, in her bed no less. Rubbing her head, she started to get out of bed, before discovering Rafael resting beside her, hands still interlocked. Panickig, she tumbled out of bed, fearful thoughts about what had happened whilst she slept crossing her mind.
Gingerly, she went to wake Rafael up, in order to get some answers from him, quickly taking note of her chest behind in, in which she kept a spare knife.

Rafael woke up just as Ahuna tumbled out of bed. Realizing that she was awake, the Jupiterran looked at her, and saw her with a panicked expression.
"Ahuna, Ahuna!" Rafael called, wincing as he stood, as he grabbed Ahuna and held her close in a hug.
"It's okay, you're alright. I'm here. We're safe okay!" Rafael said, patting her back and stroking her hair. The villagers' words disturbed him. Targeting Ahuna because she's the chieftain's niece? Seems like a political game...

"R-Rafael, what.. happened? We were hunting, then I fell unconscious... and now..."
Still extremely confused, she returned the embrace. If she was to get any information out of him, then displaying signs of distrust wasn't something she could do right now.

"There there, Ahuna... I'm here..."
Patting Ahuna, Rafael stroked her hair as he sought to calm her down.
"The hunt, you were hit by a dart. The hunters, they said that it was a sleeping poison inside it which made you unconscious. They said that it might be a rival tribe, and that they are investigating... I'm sorry Ahuna, you're the Chief's niece, I should have been more aware, more careful. I'm sorry."

"Careful..." She pondered his words for a few moments, before speaking again.
"You don't need to blame yourself, Rafael. How are you to know how my people operate? Even I didn't notice whoever fired that dart.... As long as neither of us got hurt, that's all that matters....... How's your leg... by the way?"

Rafael sighed in relief, as he hugged Ahuna tightly again. Realizing that he might be freaking her out, Rafael slowly pulled away as he sat on the chair, rubbing his ankle.
"It... It's starting to swell. Might take a day to recover, but I'm fine..." Taking Ahuna's hand again, Rafael slowly pulled her onto his lap as he stroked her hair again.
"With you around, I'm always going to be okay. Right?" Rafael asked, ending with a wink.

"I... I'm not sure how to answer that.." She accepted his hand, ending up in his lap, though had a look of discomfort on her face. Clearly the ambush earlier was still bothering her.
"Perhaps... We should remain in the village for a little while. No attackers would dare try anything here, too many of us here that infiltration is unlikely. Plus, your foot needs to heal... Although I might be able to help with that..."
She leaned down to bring his leg up, in order to massage his injured foot, easing the pain a little.

Rafael winced as Ahuna massaged his foot. Painful, but necessary to reduce the swelling. It won't go down by itself, so having Ahuna work on it was a great relief.
"Ahuna, thanks. It feels good. But how about you? Are you feeling okay?"
Rafael was no psychologist, but his Genius abilities allowed him to pick up thoughts and feelings of others.
"The attack... It's bothering you... What's on your mind?"

"I'm sure you can work out why I'm troubled... The very fact that I was attacked in the first place. And going by your words, I imagine this was only the first of many..."
She sighed, still focusing her gaze on his foot.
"For now... I just want to forget it... When you're feeling better... I think I'm going to speak to the Chief about staying here... It's an opportunity for us to talk a lot more, right?
She finally looked back up at him, with a faint smile. Clearly she's already doing her best to forget about what happened for now.

"Aye, Ahuna..." Rafael whispered. Just as Ahuna turned to leave, Rafael lightly grabbed her arm again, turning her to him as he stood.
"I'll protect you. I'll make sure you're safe." Rafael said, before leaning in to give Ahuna a kiss on the cheek, the human way of affection.
"This.. This Star-Strider makes his promise to Ahuna."

Ahuna blushed from the kiss, and she stammered a bit before regaining her composure.
"Thank you... Rafael. I'll... Be back in a minute. We can talk more then..."
And with that, she left the hut quickly.

The raptors, with no concept of shields, began to spring from the bushes, attempting to pick off the Eldari and retreat with any kills. ----------- The new Sein'Hae, better known as the Vinecrawlers, started reinforcing the Drathians once their acidic pots were spent. A number of them dropped from the trees on large beetle-like insects, which used their tough husks as mobile cover for the Drathians. Behind their ranks, a wave of about fifty additional hunters, lacking insect mounts, came charging out of the bushes, digging in amongst the Drathians line to provide additional fire with guns and bows. One was even using the gun left by the Drathians foot soldier, and some were attempting to rescue wounded soldiers from the battlefield, keeping them out of sight and out of fire. The remaining treebound Vinecrawlers made their way above the busy Bloodbeaks, firing down on them to chase them out of the battle. --------------- Ahuna did not make any attempt to pull her hands away, simply turning to look at the party again; a few smaller tribes had shown up, already looking to ally themselves with the Skullhorns. She thought for a moment, before speaking: "The hunt amongst the stars... That is what awaits us beyond the sky. It is the dream of all but a few of us... And is not my dream. I've tired of this world, and a chance to travel to the stars means that we can go our separate ways. No more petty grievances toward one another, we'll be able to go anywhere and do what we like.. Perhaps finding a Star-Strider to help on, I do enjoy helping to fix what I can.." She soon looked up to a higher catwalk, where a well dressed Sein'Hae stood, looking vicious with a plethora of skulls upon his attire. "The Chief is here.." The raptors hit their faces as they charged the Eldari, slamming against the shields as they tried to pick them. The Zealots and Avengers started grabbing Raptors by the neck and started slashing them apart with their psionic blades.

With shields and melee weapons, the Eldari would find no trouble whatsoever in dealing with the raptors, the remaining few retreating into the jungle to find something else to eat instead.
However, with their close proximity to the distress beacon, several Skullhorn hunters had noticed a commotion nearby, and advanced cross the trees lines to investigate. Stealthily, they brought themselves over the Eldari heads, though seeing them hunting beasts caused a stir; These Star-Striders were different, yet were already hunting! Wanting to figure out just what was going on, the hunters dropped down from their perches in the trees, beinging themselves into plain sight with weapons held close, as a precaution.

On both sides of the battlefield, Sein'Hae were starting to panic as they heard the approaching steps of a giant beast. The Vinecrawlers started readying to pull back, attempting to inform the Drathians about the imminent danger through hand signals. The Bloodbeaks were few in number, and so couldn't do much else but simply pull away before they were trampled.
Unfortunately, the sounds of battle had drowned out the big beast's footsteps, and so it came crashing through the trees within seconds, trampling between the two forces, essentially becoming a giant wall that began smashing and bashing anything in reach, including trees and debris.

"Oh I see...", said the Eldari commander as she saw the Skullhorn hunters come down from there perches. "Seems they want negotiation."
As she finished speaking, she started mind reading the Skullhorn hunters with her inherent psionic abilities, while trying to decipher their language so that they can communicate.
