A dead world. A dead system. A system of the death. A place of the lost. A place of destruction and of treason. A place of slaughter, of genocide. Everything was dead and sick. Even the pale light of the star seemed sick, and on the verge of dying. The entire system was filled with wrecks, horribly damaged remains of the Colonial ships..military and civilian alike. Everywhere. Massacre. Ambush. Disaster. Treason. Death. Death. Hope lost. Death.
The system had twelve planets. Six gas giants, and six terrestrial planets. The distance between the cold and lonely gas giants and the rest of the system was so large, that they could be simply ignored.. as if they were part of an entirely different system... but anyone's focus would have been attracted by the six terrestrial planets. They were all dead. Killed. Covered with smoke and radioactive clouds, in nuclear springs.. And the middle of them, the third planet from the sun, in its Goldilocks zone... it was the worse... the most damaged... the most hurt. A planet with the mass a few times larger than Earth.. black.. white.. covered in radioactive clouds... black and white. Everything was covered, its entire atmosphere was filled. The planet seemed dead.. but also alive.. in a wicked, twisted way. Terra Nova... the New Earth.. commonly known as Terra Mortuum.. the Dead Earth. And its moon, whose name had been forgotten, just as badly damaged. The planets of the dead. The dead people. The dead hopes. The dead dreams. Welcome.
But even so.. not everything was dead. Upon a closer look.. thousands and thousands of ships were already in the system, and many more were jumping in. The Kriegsflotte. The Colonials. Returning in numbers to this system for the first time in centuries.. the system of their nightmares, the system of their past and of their lost ideals.... this was where they had to face the worst nightmare of the human race, the Abyssals..will they be alone in their fight?..
"Nothing yet sir. Preliminary scans show the arrival of important Abyssal forces in the other part of the system, they're grouping their forces near the gas giants and in the exterior. We estimate that there are at least four or five Queen Hives over there right now, and more are joining in every minute. ", Retia Wedelkind reported. "No signs of the allied forces yet however, Herr Hegemon. Our scientists are doing the best they can on the surface, but they still haven't found Deus yet. We still don't know how much this will take.."
The Colonial Military Ship Terra Nova was currently in the orbit of its namesake, flanked by the Frederick the Great and Charles the Great, and by the Bismarck and the Tirptiz. The Colonials were bringing in everything they could, and with every minute that passed, more and more of their ships and battlegroups were jumping in, but this wasn't enough... it wasn't anywhere nearly enough..
In the far side of the system, millions of Invader bases, ghost ships, stolen ships, everything was jumping in, forming a swarm in the most literal way possible. There were more ships than anyone could have ever imagined there.. and there were still coming, without any sign that they would stop.. And among them... around them.. covering them.. surrounding them... there was.. something. One couldn't see exactly what it was.. only in the direct sunlight... something dark... something black.. something that was moving, swirling, wringing, eddying, spiraling. Something like a black.. fog, that seemed to cover the very mater of space itself. The Fog.
"Let's hope that they will arrive... soon..", a certain purple eyed Hegemon said, instinctively touching his eye patch due to the stress. The enemy was there... but why wasn't it attacking... and where were their allies? Will they arrive.. or will the universe succumb to darkness?

After several moments, the Eldari Protectorate forces warped in. They have brought at least 30,000 major ships, and a million or so fighters and assault ships. They have recently just hired the services of mercenaries to quell the Tal'darim Insurgents during their momentary absence as they enter the final battle against the Invaders, and they have brought every single thing they could. Carriers, Void Rays, Destroyers, Arbiters, and every kind of Eldari warship was there in varying numbers. But most prominent among them are the 3 arkships, Spear of Adun, Hammer of Shakuras, and the very well known Cleanser of Slayn. These three moonsized vessels were the most powerful ships that the Golden Armada can wield, as one would see soon enough.
"Colonial Warfleet, the Eldari forces have arrived, awaiting for our allies."
A few minutes after, the Commonwealth and the Konstrikts jumped in together. Unlike the previous occasions where Commonwealth ships were very decorated, they were now a drab black, making them barely visible in space. The Commonwealth has painted their ships in a special way that they blend with their surroundings, and thus make targeting more difficult against them. In total, they have brought 9,000 Iosif Stalin Battleships, and 4,500 Tiger battlecarriers. Other ship classes number atleast 60,000 combined.
"All allied commanders, the Commonwealth is here. Ready to die for the freedom of our galaxies."
The Konstrikt ships appeared as no more than giant steel zeppelins, but it was all a deception. Under their plate armor, millions of weapons await to be launched towards the Abyssals. They have in their number anti-matter weapons and exploding orbs of energy. Once they enter battle, they will fully reveal their horrifying true form...
The Konstrikts have brought only 6,000 ships, but these were enought to destroy a significant number of their foes...
Sill hidden in subsoace itself are the Dimensional Submarines, stealthy killers that are extremely difficult to detect unless if they surface to attack. They are the Konstrikt's most prized vessels, and everyone knows it well.

In a Colonial transport, Master Sergeant Scott Carver stood with many of the other Confederate forces. They were a colossal force, four massive units of the finest soldiers in the Confederacy, and the most commandos assembled for the same mission since the First Delieggen War. Far, far more than at Tau Volantis, and by far better trained and equipped than those poor souls. The diverse paint schemes of the armour had been suspended until further notice. For now, all Confederate commandos wore silver and white. Carver called up the schematics of the armour on his HUD, and looked over the final improvements the Confederate armour-smiths had made. His helmet was white, with a silver T-shaped visor. The boots, greaves, and gauntlets were all white, with silver paint around the edges. The chestplate, utility belt, and pack were all white, with sideways silver crosses across the chest's centre. For now, Carver had his helmet held at his side, to show the Colonial officers aboard that he was human like them. His face was rather young, but stress and attrition had lined his fair skinned face, saddened his bright blue eyes, and put spots of grey in his brown hair. Even so, there was a steely determination in his demeanour, and an obvious desire to win.
He tapped the shoulder of one of the Colonial officers, one who had carried an air of command. Once he had the officer's attention, Carver said evenly, "I'm Sergeant Scott Carver, and I'll probably be with you in the battle ahead. I want you to see something." Carver motioned to a line of crates, and opened them one by one. They contained pieces of armour, also silver and white. He said evenly, "This is our last gift to the Colonies. A simplified version of Confederate armour, the sort we wear. You'll notice it's the same colour as ours. There's a special reasoning behind this. As you know, the Invaders wear black. Black is the absence of all colour, and the Invaders are the absence of all light, all life. White, on the other hand, is the combination of all colour. This armour represents the combination of all life, all of us combining our efforts to wipe out the Invaders. It also represents the purity of our cause, how all of us are fighting to save not only our friends, but all living things. The silver represents spirituality. I have faith that God will ensure our success, and I have faith in all of my comrades from across the galaxy to do what it takes to win this fight. If you prefer the standard colours of the Colonial Armed Forces, we've designed sets with those paint schemes as well. But I wanted to offer you this design first."
He then continued, "But on to the functionality. There are a variety of chemicals onboard, agents for numbing, energy, focus, and all of the three. There are also files you can access in your helmet about which to use, and they're activated by voice command. There are two types of packs available, rocket and equipment. One is filled with prosician liquid fuel, and can be used for a controlled descent from a high height, or routed into gauntlets to use as a flamethrower. There are also trisilviate vibroswords in sheaths on the back. Weapons can also be stored there, and grenades as well as sidearms can be stashed in the belt. Optional equipment that we can provide is trisilviate scatter-guns. It's the only ballistic weapon in the Confederate arsenal, but the spread from these rips apart crowds of common Invaders. It will only make a high one angry, but that's not their strong suit. As for the edges of the armour, try not to touch anything with them. They're laser-sharpened trisilviate, and incredibly sharp. The armour itself is made of durasteel, and a lattice of miniaturised energy cells will provide anti-radiation protection during the mission. Strength and efficiency of the shielding is regulated by the Acruani AIs in our armour. Yours doesn't have Acruani, but it will be very easy to link your suits to Kobol or Alice. It can survive radiation, space for a limited amount of time, high impact, and lastly, a great deal of weapons fire. It's also rather heavy. That being said, all of us are going to get radiation sickness. I expect we'll come out alive and relatively functioning if the battle doesn't kill us, but the shielding can only take so much, and I know there are high levels on Terra Nova. There are also low light, infrared, and x-ray vision modes in the helmets, as well as several mission frequencies. I'll let you know the squad comm frequencies once the mission begins. Also, there are two self destruct methods. The armour will monitor your vitals, and you can choose it to explode or to inject trisilviate, a known anti-Invader metal, into your bloodstream."
He then added with a salute as he donned his helmet, "You'll be with Confederate Shock Commandos. They're new units. They're not Naval Commandos, as the Navy is practically gone at this point. But you have our aid, and there's nothing we wont do to win. However the Confederacy may have wronged you in the past, let the sins of our fathers be washed away in the common blood we'll shed together in the battle ahead. Onslaught, Broadside, Nightmare, and Siren Companies, reporting for service."

After a while, four portals appeared just behind the Invader forces. From them, came out massive armadas of the Suprions possessing a variety of space vessels. The fleet from the first wormhole, belonged to the Ichsyus. It was composed of Predators, Khal'Dors, Ak'thals, Vanguards, World Destroyers, Zarts and three Capital ships, etc. The second one from the other wormhole, belonged to the Ploutonic Ektons. It was composed of Xals, Scavengers, Quasars and likewise three Capital ships, etc. Moreover, the third fleet, which are organic in nature, belonged to the Synthians. This was composed of Star Fliers, Rak'Nals, Healers of Dawn, Devourers, Behemoth Cores and also three Capital ships (colossal dragons capable of carrying millions), etc. Lastly, with uttermost importance, the fourth was an armada of the Sanctified (the most powerful military Order of the Union). In addition, each of the fleets had a moon sized ship called the "Star Eaters."
As they grouped up in the system's edge, they formed a triangular formation.
"Greetings, Colonial fleet and all the rest, the Suprion Armada has arrived. We are ready to join you in glorious battle. May all our allies come in this unprecedented moment ."

As planned, nearly 50 thousand Loroi ships jumped into the system, in a formation resembling a pair of pyramids fused together. Their ships seemed to be covered by metal plates though in between such plates, there were faint red lights coming out. The ships themselves resembled thorns or spikes, lacking external weapon systems though each ship was almost uniformly protected by shields, only the edges of the ship having stronger shields.
While they would be unable to communicate with each other directly, both the use of Acruani AIs and manual transfer of data in between ships though smaller ships would help them to maintain their coordination at their peak performance and coordination.
Simultaneous two groups of ships jumped into the system, to be more specific one into the system and the other one, directly above it. By Acruani standards, those were the two largest groups of Acruani ships ever used in a single system. The first formation was in the system with 300 thousand Acruani Capital ships, the ships were clad in silver with nearly 80 thousand Hive Queens deep into the formation. While the formation itself didn't move in relation to other fleets in the system, the ships inside the formation were always in movement even as they had appeared in the system. The formation however, seemed to steer clear from planets and any cluster of wrecks in sight.
The second formation albeit of a similar size and shape had clearly far less ships within. Its outer layer had at most 100 thousand Acruani ships with an even sparser layer of 50 thousand Hive Queens halfway into it. Its core, however, was completely different. It had within a colossal ship, by Acruani Standards, nearly the size of a moon... albeit a small one, by universal standards. It was the Acruani Flagship, for the lack of a better designation, ACMS Selene. Orbiting it more closely than the other Acruani ships by a large range, there were eight silver spheres of 20 kilometers of diameter, twice the size of most Hive Queens. Those ships were the Empyrious.
Within both Acruani formations, much like the Loroi there were small ships being quickly send in between the Acruani ships. Much like the Loroi, they were sharing data within their formations to ensure maximum efficiency.

Colonial Transport Ship CMS-FGJK45As the transport ships were preparing to make their last jump towards the system of Sol Nova, everything was pretty much ready. They were filled with the best of the soldiers of the Confederacy, and also with the best of the soldiers of the Colonies, more or less. Most of the soldiers were Star Guards, the elite forces of the Colonial Space Forces, wearing their Battle Armor Suits, commonly known as nanosuits. Similar to the Confederate armors in purpose, they were however much different. Lighter, and made from nanocybernetic material, the nanosuits use nanobots to turn their wearers into excellent soldiers. Most of these nanosuits had the normal field camouflage color of the Colonial Armed Forces, the so called stone gray. There were also soldiers from all the other branches of the Colonial Armed Forces here, in general spotting similar armament. Veranium blades. Colonial Dual Mode Rifles, able to fire both in ballistic and laser modes. Mortars. Machine guns. The difference was however vague visible in differences between the nuance of gray, and their emblems. Not standing out too much, the SPEKO, the Special Command Units of the Colonial Armed Forces. The Army. But there was also a considerable number of people wearing red-blue armbands with the letters F.K. on them. The Colonial "voluntary" militia forces, the Freikorps 1. There were also all kinds of races here. Most of the soldiers didn't have their helmets on yet, so the Confederates would be able to see them. Somewhere lower than the half of all these Colonial troops were humans, and more than a half of the humans were clearly Genome users, with their weirder looking hair and eye colors. An overwhelming majority of them was armed with all kinds of melee Veranium weapons, from swords to spears and axes. The normal humans were well, normal humans. But the overwhelming majority was formed by various alien races. The Confederates could see a large number of the so called animal-people, the anthropomorphic human-animal hybrids, like those known as the cat people. Human looking people, with cat ears and tails, while also having the instincts and agility of a cat. Nobody knew for sure how they did appear, through evolution or long forgotten experiments, but their numbers in the Colonies were high. Because while in other places, like especially the Keltaken Empire, they were sold into slavery and used for.. a lot of things, the Colonies were one of the few states to actively recognize them as citizens and to protect them, so earning their loyalty in battle. All kinds of possible animal people were also there. There were also many kinds of aliens. From the green human looking Luminarians, to the blue with tentacles alien species saw at the Foreign Minister, and many, many more. And for those who still had their helmets on, there was no way for the Confederates to see what species they were.. but although up until now, the IIA had fought against mostly human units directly, the Colonial Armed Forces were far from being only human. General estimations assume that around 35% of its members are human. But the fact that no other race has such a great percent on its own, and that human officers usually take the upper spots, the general belief of foreigners had come to designate the KSF as human forces. And then of course, this was only one transport ship. There were many, many more.. The officer whom Carver tapped on the shoulder was a human, or more specifically, a Genome user by the looks of it. With a messy dark red hair(but really, really red, not what the humans usually consider to be red hair), and dark blue eyes, the young man was wearing a nanosuit of the SPEKO 2 forces, and his ranks identified himself as an Oberleutnant3. He seemed pretty concerned about something, but when Carver started to speak, the man turned around and listened. While not looking necessarily friendly, he at least had an attitude of mutual respect, listening carefully at the explanations of the Confederate officer. "Thank you very much, we shall take them and use them with the highest of gratitude. In silver and white color schemes, of course.", he said, vaguely smiling. "I am Oberleutnant Theodore Eberbach. Nice to meet you.", the Colonial presented himself. And when Carver saluted, Theodore and the other Colonial officers in the transport ship responded to the salute. "We shall then welcome the Onslaught, Broadside, Nightmare, and Siren Companies in the 78th Colonial Shock Army Group 4. Or better said, right now, the 1st Allied Shock Army Group. Let's destroy those bastards!"
Sometime later, the transport fleet jumped near the orbit of Terra Nova, and the last preparations were being made. The soldiers put on their helmets, checked everything.. and Theodore shortly showed something to everyone else. A syringe with an orange liquid in it. "Upon checking, you will notice that you all have received such syringes. The armors and nanosuits will protect us from the radiation for at the most 48 hours. If we're lucky, we'll either have won or we'll all be dead by then.. but if by any means, your armor is broken, quickly use this syringe. It will give you the time to repair your armor without dying immediately from radiation exposure.. or else you'll die in 15 seconds after radiation contact. Good luck." Putting the syringe back, he gave a quick debriefing. "As the 1st Allied Shock Army Group, we'll be in charge of protecting the main entrance into the Capitolium. The Science Division is there right now, searching for the final piece of Heaven's Fall. Once we land, we set up defensive positions and join the other forces there. If the Invaders land, we keep them away. As simple as that. And by any means necessary. Let's try not to blow up many things though, the buildings in the Federal district are unstable.. let's go." Pressing something on the back of his neck, Theodore made a lot of holographic panels appear around him, and then the color of the walls of the transport ship turned, as if it were made of glass.. showing the exterior, and the black planet next to them. Each Colonial soldier had a chip implanted in their suits, connected to their minds, which allowed them to use neural interfaces. And for the landing, Theodore had to assist the computer.. The sensors holographically showed the way the ships had to take, as they approached the orbit... and they gained speed.. and as they entered the atmosphere, everything went black.
The darkness remained, as the transport ships were passing through the dark radioactive clouds that completely covered the atmosphere of Terra Nova.. black.. white...gray...the colors of death all mixed up... until there was finally light. What the people inside the transport ships could see was an unimaginable sight. A planet booming with life and nature. Huge, tall buildings, magnetic and gravity roads, monuments.. and unlike on Xalion, they were living in harmony with the nature. Everything was green, and the nature was present everywhere, balancing out the city. Forests, gardens, the entire horizon was covered by one giant forest-jungle, and inside it, surrounded by it, a planetary city. There was no sign of Xalion's huge chimneys, throwing black and gold Opilium smoke in the atmosphere.. but instead, huge wind turbines, solar panels.. the planet looked like the dream of an ecologist. But what was really standing out, was a huge dome and a gigantic central plaza... that looked alike, but incomparable, to those in Xalion. The originals.. emanating glory, standing there as witnesses of the ideals and freedoms of the Colonies... And then, the simulation the ship was running to estimate locations stopped, revealing the planet as it was now. It was dark, always dimmed, with the black-white clouds in the sky covering all of the light. It was cold, and it was slowly snowing, radioactive snow. Unlike the time when the Colonials last visited the planet, right now, Terra Nova was the furthest from Sol Nova. And with it, there were freezing temperatures... and winter. Nuclear winter. There was no sort of rests from the once proud forest that covered the planet.. only emptiness.. and the lonely ruins of the ecumonopolis. Skyscrapers, highways, monuments.. and the most visible, the Capitolum. The original, on which the Federal District of Xalion was based. The original Dome was a few times larger than its pale copy on Xalion... so large that only its base was properly visible, the rest being so tall that it was covered by the dark radioactive clouds. Slowly decaying, the Dome held the record of the largest building in the known universe for a long time.. and together with the large Plaza in front of it, with the statues of the Twelve, and in the middle the five statues. Freedom, Unity, Equality, and the forgotten one... but cracks were visible, and their torches were dark. And in the middle, the Colonial Eagle had broken in two. Forgotten memories of a once proud place.. Landing a little violently, the transport ships however managed to arrive on the surface, landing somewhere in the Plaza, a few kilometers away from they had to take their positions. Leaving their ships, the soldiers started to march in silence, as above them, ash and radioactive snow was slowly falling in this silent and desolate world... And after a few minutes of marching in silence, the soldiers saw a lone pillar, waving a battered, torn, and old Colonial flag, who was waving slowly in the cold wind. Something that looked like it was once a body, now only an old armor, was gripping the pillar into its hands.. and although the model of the armor would have been unknown to the Confederates, it spotted what had once been a stone gray color.. the Colonial soldiers saluted in silence. And then, somebody started to sing. And the Colonial soldiers one by one, sang.
Soldaten, marsch, marsch, marsch!
Heimat, dich soll kein Feind bedrohen, zu dir stehn wir jederzeit, zogen kämpfend durch die halbe Welt, bist du in Not, tun wir es erneut.
Soldaten, marsch, marsch, marsch!5
And sometime later, the soldiers reached the main entrance into the Dome. Colonial forces were already there, building bunkers and fortifications, setting up machine gun and artillery positions. Preparing the final defense. Theodore turned to his men, and held a short speech. "Soldiers! This is the place that was once the heart of the Colonies, the center of our ideals, and the dream of a united and peaceful galaxy! Centuries ago, in front of the treacherous and genocidal attack of Earth, our forefathers failed to defend it.. we will wipe out that stain of dishonor from our flags and history! Today, we will defend Terra Nova! Below the Dome, our scientists are looking for the final piece of Heaven's Fall. The Invaders will want to stop them. If they land, the only way in the Dome is through these main entrances. They won't risk destroying it and damaging the piece, they will force the entrances, and here is where we will make our resistance. Stop those bastards from getting in, by any means necessary! We shall not make one step back! No Invader shall set step into our Dome Hurra!" "Hurra!"
And with that, the Colonials and their allies started the last preparations for the defense. The Confederates and the others were free to start building their positions. The battle was coming near.. C.M.S. Terra Nova
"Herr Hegemon, the Allied forces have arrived, and are taking positions. Land forces have been taken to the surface of Terra Nova.", Retia reported. The Hegemon finally looked a little calmer. "Any signs from the Invaders?", he asked. "No, nothing yet. They're not jamming us. They simply seem to be.. standing there.", her sister, Lise, said. "Try to contact the Allied fleets.. they all know the plan, but let's see.." Attention, movement from hostile signatures detected.
"The Invaders are moving sir!", Retia said desperately. "How? Without activating their Xenoliths?!", the purple eyed boy responded, taken by surprise.. "Yes sir, it does seem so... they're opening fire.." Activating communications with his fleet, the Hegemon quickly gave the order. "To all Colonial forces. We have lost a lot in this war. We have bent, but we have not broken. The time has come, to prove what we can do, to this Abyssals and to all the other nations in the Universe. To prove, that we are the best. We'll hold our positions, destroy these filthy Invaders, and send them back to the hellhole from which they came! All hands, action stations!" Action stations, action stations. All hands, action stations. Set Condition One throughout the fleets. This is not a drill.
Gefechtsstationen, Gefechtsstationen! Kondition Einz! Kondition Einz!6
The gargantual Invader swarm, surrounded by the fog, started to advance from the outer ring of the system, with clearly one objective.. Terra Nova. The Colonials opened fire with their main batteries, activating their Klein Fields and entering combat positions. while they started to quickly launch fighters, who tried to keep their distance from the advancing fog.. but one of the Colonial battlegroups, the first one.. was too slow. And it was simply... swallowed by the darkness. Contact lost with Kampfgruppe Silesien7."Come on.. there must be something we can do..", the Hegemon said, as the Fog started to advance towards the rest of the Colonial and Allied forces. The Colonials, in their formations centered around their heavy battlecarries, were obviously trying to use their superior firepower to keep the Fog and the Swarm away, with support from the automated Orbital Defenses on the planets, the one who never had a chance to fire on the day of the Massacre. And the many wrecks occupiying the system only made this more complicated.. and out of the Fog, the Invader bases also opened fire, in their usual manner, with swarms of missiles and xenomorphic fighters who took the battle to the Allies. The Fog advanced.. The Battle of Sol Nova had begun. Let justice be done..
- Freikorps, literally Free Corps. More or less voluntary militia forces of the Colonies, mostly formed by conscripts, and used in truly desperate situations.
- Spezielles Kommand Einheiten. Units of the Special Command. The elite special forces of the Colonies.
- Obersleutnant- Senior Lieutenant,
- Sturmarmeegruppe. Shock Army Group. A military unit of the Colonial Army, made up by elite Shock Infantry and armored divisions, with massive support from mobile artillery and close air support. Designed to break through certain positions in the enemy forces, literally the tip of the spear of a Colonial offensive.
- Our way has not come to an end..
Comrade, look in the distance, Look at the flag waving in the wind for us, As it’s leading the march column!
Soldiers, march, march, march!
Fear is something unknown, To all of you who are marching with us. Fatherland, for you we go to battle, And soon we will wave the flags of victory!
Soldiers, march, march, march!
Fatherland, no enemy shall threaten you, Together with you we will stand always. We shall fight through the entire world, And when you are in danger, we will answer the call!
Soldiers, march, march, march!
- Action Stations, Action Stations. Condition One, Condition One.
- Battle Group Silesia.

As the newly modified tanks and robotic kill-drones of the Commonwealth emerged from their own transport ships, they positioned themselves in various defensive stances. Some ASU 500 Y's buried themselves halfway into the snow, and others hid behind buildings and tank wrecks. Frontoviki drones hid under cracks, holes, and blast sites. Wherever it suited them, thereby they hid. The Commonwealth ground forces were commanded by Alexis Vatutin. Vatutin is a veteran of the war against the Tagran, and as a commander he preferred an indirect approach. He loves above all ambushes and indiscriminate slaughter of enemy forces, though he is also highly adaptive to the current situation. A man the Commonwealth High Command thought the best to lead their ground forces against the Abyssals.
As he looked upon the desolate wasteland that is Terra Nova, he felt... sickened. It was like Durgadon's night side, though the snow was black and radioactive, unlike the clean, white snow he always knew in his home planet.
He spoke to Eberbach through the speakers, "Any tactical advice you can give me, commander? "
The only Eldari forces to land are the Purifiers. The Purifiers are rendered resistant to the radiation by their extremely potent shields, and no living Eldari warriors landed there. Probes began warping in defensive photon cannon turrets and shield batteries. The photon cannons are adept against both aerial and ground targets, though they are not capable of attacking space borne vessels. The firepower of the photon cannons and the shield replenishing ability of the shield batteries, however, can at the very least will delay any Invader onslaught against Heaven's Fall's activation...
Neither the Eldari nor the Commonwealth were idle for even a moment after the Invaders began advancing. The three arkships and the Tiger battlecarriers unleashed a hell storm of solar beams in their apocalyptic fury, and uncountable numbers of Interceptors began to swarm from the spacious holds of the Eldari carriers. But upon seeing Kampfgruppe Silesien being swallowed in the most horrific manner, a message screamed through the Commonwealth warfleets - "Colonial battlegroup has been swallowed by the Fog, avoid it at all costs to avoid the same fate!"
As if in reply, the Golden Armada began moving slowly backwards, whilst firing millions of beams and other plasmatic agents of destruction at the advancing Abyssals. The arkships also began firing shield torpedoes. These torpedoes are not intended to destroy, but to protect. For when these torpedoes explode, they release temporary yet extremely durable shield barriers that block anything that crosses them.
Let justice be done... Through the blood of a trillion souls!

Aboard the transport, Carver nodded as he heard Eberbach's words of gratitude and welcome. He said evenly, "A pleasure. I hope the armour serves you well. And I'd say we have a good chance in the battle ahead. If everything goes perfectly, the Invaders wont know what hit them."
With that, Carver donned his helmet, and looked over the mixed human and Dothvalian troops under his command. While the armour sets were nearly identical, the Dothvalians' larger size and higher numbers set them apart from the other commandos. He regretted that the Dothvalians wouldn't be able to remove their helmets before the battle for biological reasons. Perhaps after the war, the Colonials could see the face of one. But the Sergeant had other things to focus on. He thought back to all of the training he had done, everything he had read about the mysterious Colonial Armed Forces, and tried to reconcile it with the diversity of the units he was seeing now. He had always thought they were primarily human, with the occasional Genome user. But the reality was quite different.
Deciding not to dwell on it at a time like this, he focused on the simulation aboard the transport. And once Carver donned his helmet, all the human troops under his command followed suit. He thought the original Terra Nova was beautiful. But when he saw the modern planet, the Sergeant felt a bit of concern.
It looked similar to a Confederate frontier planet, but not like any he'd been on. More like a tainted copy, an evil twin. Instead of clean sunlight, weak light filtered down from a far-off star. The skies weren't clear, but clogged with dirty looking clouds. Even the snow was a darker colour than what Carver was used to. The Federal District was also sad to look at. Even if it was foreign, Carver could recognise the ruins of what had once been glory.
He listened to the explanation about the syringes, and the speeches from the Colonial side. They were inspiring and well-written, and Carver remained respectfully silent as they sang. Once Eberbach had finished speaking, Carver activated the comm functions for the Confederate units. During this time, a brief message reading 'Confederate Battle Speech Frequency' would appear with a number in the helmets of all Allied soldiers, in case they wanted to listen.
Carver said in an authoritative tone, "Hello, everyone. As you know, we've come to defend this place. Protecting scientists, whose work is crucial to stopping the Abyssals once and for all. This is Maarlox all over again, except the stakes are a million times higher. Many of you wont return from this mission, and it's been an honour serving with you. From the shifting halls of the HCS Pluto to the fiery cores of Kaarlazen and the frozen wastes of Maarlox or Tau Volantis, this isn't our first time facing these monsters, nor are they the only ones we've seen. The Father In Heaven watches all of us, and I expect everyone to meet their fate with a prayer on their lips, a weapon in their hand, and a fire in their heart. Remember the lessons of Kaarlazen, and awaken the ferocity we all keep hidden. The Abyssals expect us to be hopeless, marching to our fate like lambs to a slaughter. They'll be caught off guard by the joy with which we slay them. Engineers, prepare field fortifications in that ruined courtyard, just a short way ahead of the Capitollium! The best of our forces will man that front line. Snipers, take up positions amongst the entrance ruins, spread out if you can. Dothvalians, heavy commandos, we repel the Invaders, we bleed them up close. Lastly, gunners. Move up to the front, provide fire support to the commandos who will engage the Abyssals hand to hand. Everyone else, stick to whatever cover you can, and dont let the Abyssals reach the Allied lines around the main entrance. We hold our positions or we die trying! There will be no retreat." He then added, "And anyone at the command post, dont let the flag fall." Carver referred to the Allied flag erected in front of the building, at the centre of all the different lines.
As the defences were slowly built, towering commandos in silver and white stood side by side with Colonial troops in their sleeker nanosuits, as well as ground forces from other nations. All had their weapons pointing forward, and all were ready for battle. Some were praying. Carver and the others at the front pulled ammunition and attachments from their packs, and assembled CI-97 gatling lasers. It was a man-portable version, and less potent than stationary ones. Even so, they would do extraordinary damage to an Abyssal charge, at least initially. And for when they got close, Carver knew he had the gun at his hip and the sword on his back. Once again, the list of names appeared in his mind. Coleridge, Embry, Tanner, Remington, Tiller, nearly all of Wendigo Company and the soldiers of Nightmare Company who had died at Line Maria. Thinking of the dead filled him with life, and a surge to avenge them surfaced.
He looked to Eberbach a final time, and asked through the speakers in his helmet, "You're ready? Are there any tactical changes you'd recommend before the battle starts? And a fine speech, I might add."

As the other forces seemed to land in Terra Nova, an Acruani capital ship seemed to detach from one of the formations, quickly speeding towards the planet before shooting down a number of ships that could only be considered transports. If there had been organics in them, the gravitational forces were likely to have killed them or in the least damaged the suits as the ships only sped through the atmosphere until they got visuals from the ground.
The dropships quickly seemed to do a variety of maneuvers to reduce their speed quickly from attempts to reduce their speeds such as their external shells openning and breaking from friction with the air, to their engines pushing themselves to the max to reduce their speed. In the end they reached the ground forming small craters, and from those crates came nearly 5.000 Acruani... nanomachine spiders.
They spread themselves in the most external perimeter so that their chances of meeting the enemy in the ground before others would increase. After all, their self-destruction was surely more effective when they could explode in the midst of many of the enemy.
AMS Selene
Archene with Hamiel on his waist was currently looking at a tridimensional map of the system. Though he could observe the datastream directly, it was also good to watch the system this way. At times, that remainder of nostalgia was something he could consider optimal. While he spoke out loud, there was a androgynous voice that would be on that thin line between a human sounding voice and one that was artificially generated.
"No anomalies were found in the transportation and landing of the mobile units."
"The Hive seems to remain fully operational in the system. Enemy formations have began fighting. Our forces are currently following through the most acceptable patterns."
"Perfect. Ensure that any modification to the data pertaining the enemy forces recieve priority in data transfer in case they inhibit direct connections."
The Acruan formations were not directly in the way to Terra Nova however, that soon ceased to be the case as the formation without Selene descended into the way of Invaders. Though they were careful, swarms of fighters were still shot towards the Invaders along with Hive Queens Hyperion cannons being shot in waves to ensure nearly continuous fire from the formation. Even then, if they were to hit a ship's shield or even a ship directly they'd be surely cut through, however many shots that took.
Selene's formation above the system seemed to only deploy more fighters to remain around it. The moonship and its peripherals not shooting even once. The Hive Queens, however, seemed to focus fire in any incoming Invader ship or the ones in their way to Terra Nova, in order to damage them even before they could be properly attack by Colonial and other allied forces.

The Suprion formations in the system's outer rings began advancing towards the Invader swarm in a menacing silence. Then, once they got within maximum striking striking range, they began to fire their plasmatic weaponry at the burgeoning swarm. Their fire is without mercy, and lasers shined in a chill flame, and cold was the wrath of those that controlled them. Then, in the first time in a milennia, the Suprions utilized their legendary graviton cannons. These apocalyptic weapons generate artificial gravitational fields once they hit their targets, causing enormous devastation. The reason why the Suprions refrained from using graviton cannons for a thousand years because the damage they caused against those they conquered was simply too too much, and their use was banned save for the direst of circumstances. And the "direst of circumstances" certainly included this final battle against an extragalactic threat that is the Invaders.
Zath battleships began to take hold of the shattered wrecks around them, and then used them as battering rams against the Swarm. Their own super powerful electromagnets are strong enough to pull starships(those smaller ones, like destroyers and frigates) and then throw them like slow motioned darts against enemy forces. Let justice be done, for the sake of the spilled blood of trillions!

The Allies fought bravely... but for now at least, it all seemed to be in vain. The Fog continued its relentless advance, only slowed down a little by the desperate efforts of the Allied forces. The Allies could have been destroying millions of Invader ships right now. But with the Fog surrounding them, there was no way of knowing.. no way of knowing anything, except from the dark mist advancing...
Neither the solar beams of the Commonwealth, nor the graviton cannons of the Suprions managed to provoke any visible damage to the Fog, the holes left behind by these shots quickly regenerating, the dark matter protecting the ships inside from it. The Acruani were a little better, their quick attacks probably counting for most of the slowing down of the swarms. The Colonial defensive formations, with their large ships, managed to hold on pretty well, maybe because their specialty were indeed defensive battles. Synchronizing their fire, the Colonials used their kinetic and laser weapons at the best of their capacities, the main batteries restlessly firing salvo after salvo inside the Fog, the Colonial Tactical Network simulating the possible locations of the Abyssal ships inside the Fog, while keeping distance from the advancing Fog in an orderly manner. Realizing the danger of keeping their fighters out in such a chaotic fight, the Colonials protected their fighters and drones by keeping them inside the formation or landing them back in the battlecarriers. But unfortunately, nothing was enough to slow them down. Especially due to a fatal mistake.
At least in theory, using electromagnets to throw wrecked ships at the enemy wasn't a bad idea at all. But the Suprions clearly neglected one important thing. The unstable reactors inside most of those wrecks. Clearly ignoring the Colonial warnings, the violent way in which the Suprions moved and threw those ships was more than enough to cause repeated failures of the magnetic fields keeping the unstable Opilium in check, provoking a collapse of the reactors. And the small ships the Suprions tried to move exploded, and this damaged the larger battlestars around them, who exploded too.. in seconds, the entire space around the Suprion fleets exploded with the power of several supernovae, with thousands upon thousands of reactors giving their last dying breath, damaging and destroying parts of the Suprion Fleet. Luckily for the rest of the Allied fleets, the Fog had already started to divide them, so the rest of the damage was absorbed and sent back by the Fog, keeping the other wrecks in the system from turning the entire place into a black hole.
"Sensors detecting explosions in the other part of the system, around the Suprion fleets. We can't estimate the damage, but around a quarter of the reactors in the system seem to have exploded in chain reaction.", an officer reported, as the systems in the CIC of the C.M.S. Frederick the Great were alarming the Colonials about what was happening in the other part of the system. "The Fog is continuing their advance sir, they're pushing us back!" "Kampfgruppe Rhein is suffering losses! Requesting immediate assistance!"
"Damn it.", the Hegemon said, assaulted by so many problems. The situation was bad. Not only what they were doing wasn't slowing the Fog down, and the Keltakens, which were supposed to form near half of the Allied forces, were missing, but also the other Allied fleets seemed to be unable to properly use anti-Abyssal tactics. There was certainly a Fog surrounding a Swarm, but it was still, a Swarm... this only complicated the situation, now, they had to..
"Sir.. what is.. that?"
ATTENTION, UNKNOWN SIGNATURE DETECTED
The red warning messages appeared on every Colonial sensor, as something... something huge seemed to be visible at the edge of the Fog, still surrounded by it, but visible enough for the Allies to realize that it was something.. at least of the size of Earth. With the dark Fog surrounding and covering it, it moved forward, cutting Battle Group Rhine into two... headed for the planet. And suddenly, it fired.. thousands upon thousands of projectiles covered by dark Fog at Terra Nova.. before the Colonials could even react, the projectiles went through the primary shields of the planet like it was nothing.. going through and disappearing in the dark and dead atmosphere below. In one move, their entire line of defense had been broken. And the Fog continued to advance, as the Invader ships inside started to fire on their own.. surrounding and dividing each of the Allied fleets.
Let justice be done, through darkness and chaos.
Terra Nova, the First Dome
"Eh, thank you. Speeches are important before battles, I learned that in my time in the Freikorps. Julius, I think you may know him as the Hegemon, he was the best though, and he taught the others like me some stuff, back in the days.", Theodore said, preparing his rifle. The soldiers were taking their position slowly but surely, the dark and gloomy atmosphere around making most of the soldiers to simply remain quiet. The defensive formation of the Colonials was focused around bunkers and trenches, around multiple defense lines, with the Heer, the Garden or the SPEKO units1 in the main positions, supported by Freikorps volunteers. There was everything around here, from humans to Genome users, to all kinds of aliens. The Colonies were bringing everything they had in this battle. Mobile artillery units were ready behind the lines to fire at the enemy, and the Panzers2, either in their vehicle or in their robotic form were hiding, partially buried into the dark snow. The shields around the Dome had been activated, the usually colored Klein Field having a pale grayish color. The only things that were standing out in this dead and lifeless atmosphere were the blue-golden flags of the Colonials, slowly waving in the radioactive wind.
"Well, they do say that no battle plan ever survives the first contact with the enemy.", Theodore answered to both the Confederate and the Commonwealth commanders. "We need to be flexible however We placed relays all over the place. Use the Tactical Network to keep contact with all our units, and we'll change our tactics during the battle depending on the moves of the enemy. The battle is drawing near..."
And then, silence. Only the endless wind and snow was being heard... nobody said a word, as the seconds slowly passed... as chaos was being unleashed in space... and chaos arrived. The dark clouds above seemed to turn red... and then each and every living being around felt a devastating headache.. and then blackness.
And then they saw it. A planet.. different, but also the same. The sun was glowing the blue sky, and green and plants were covering the city line. Nature and technology, together in harmony. Not destroying each other, like on Earth or Xalion.. but completing each other. The tall skyscrapers were surrounded by plants, and humans, aliens, and animals were all living in peace and harmony.
Today was a special day, since there were people everywhere.. celebrating.. the blue-golden flags, the stars and the crosses. The laurel wreaths. It was Armistice Day. The largest Colonial celebration day between the two Secession Wars. The day celebrating the armistice and the "Eternal Peace" between Earth and its Colonies.. the day of happiness, and of peace. And of lies.
Many had tried to warn them. That it could happen. That it would happen. But who believed it? Who believed that the Terrans would dare to break the armistice? The armistice signed in front of all the races of the galaxy? Nobody. And that was the biggest mistake. That, and believing that no Colonial would ever choose to betray the Federation. The betrayal that killed a planet, and ideal, and condemned a nation to a slow death. It's only in the nature of time, that the old ways must give in, while the new ways comes in sin..
Explosions in the orbit, red in the sky. Helpless battletars being destroyed, falling back into the atmosphere. The Defense Network shut down, paralyzing everything. The scared citizens, looking at the blue sky, as their fate was decided right there and then. Strange ships appearing in the orbit, turning around, destroying their lines of defense.. in total radio silence. Everything shutting down. The massacre in the orbit. The desperation on the surface, the silence, and then the missiles. Red spears of death, falling from the skies, destroying everything... the blinding lights and flashes.. the explosions.. the screams of billions of dying souls... everything burning, burning, burning, turning into ash and darkness. The smoke.. the clouds... and a planet dying. In silence, the pride of the Colonies, the CMS Sol Nova, the first of its class.. crashing on top of the Dome.. once white and shining, now gray and dying, while its sister ship, CMS Terra Nova, barely jumped away, burning. Death and ashes.. only the destroyed buildings and the clouds remaining, guards over an empty planet..
"Was.. was war das?"3
A soldier asked, as they came back to their senses. Suddenly, there was a snow storm.. a storm of dark and dead snow, reducing the visibility around them. Confused, Theodore looked at the Dome, where somewhere up, in the area covered by the dark clouds, the Sol Nova was resting.. and then, they heard them. The sensors.. the alarms. They were here.
Advancing in silence, white among the black snow, millions of dead bodies.. with glowing eyes... behind them, gigantic tall monster, with black golden skins, with dark red horns and tails, and glowing yellow eyes... advancing in order, and in silence, the Invaders stopped.
"Oh my, what do we have here...", a pink eyed girl, smirking and unsheathing her sword, standing near another High Invader, who was wearing a damaged Confederate armor, with glowing red eyes..
Using her sword, Sigma cut a small line on her hand... and one drop of blood fell on the dark snow. The tall monsters screamed like animals, firing black energy spheres at the Allied lines, the Klein Fields resisting the first salvo.
"Forward, attack and destroy! Turn them into ashes and blood!", Sigma screamed, and led by the monsters, the Invaders rushed forward. The battle had begun.
1- Denglisch. The Army, the Guards, and the SPEKO. 2. Panzerkampfwagen, armored combat vehicle. 3. What.. what was that?

The ASU-500 Y's began loading HE shells and fired their massive 8 inch guns at the advancing horde, probably killing a good amount but at the same time not deterring it. The super heavy T-34/120 tanks fired high velocity HESH shells at the tall monsters, and the Frontoviki drones began laying down sustained rapid laser fire at the horde, trying to mow down as many of them as possible in a move of indiscriminate slaughter that the general Vatutin likes very well. The Kampaneya walkers fired rockets with depleted nuclear linings at the screaming Invader legion. Perhaps, most of them will not return home, but at least they kill many, will they?
The Purifier Colossi fired thermal lances at the ground between the Allied frontline and the horde, setting it aflame. The small Purifier warships looming above called down plasma torpedoes at the Invaders and sent lifeless corpses flying 6 meters to the air. The Sentinels readied their energy blades for a close engagement. Dead blood will be spilled.

The Acruani Spiders felt no headache, however, they were still stunned in place as the enemy came. They were melee units. They were made to jump into the enemy and bring many down from within their formations, but the Acruani were not ready for the giant monster. They were sure, however, that the Allied Forces would be able to better focus there fire against them.
As the hordes moved forward, the Acruani spiders moved with all their speed. Whether their white exterior would provide any stealth in the snow mattered little as they jumped at ludicrous speeds as soon as the hordes were in an acceptable range. Some spiders fighting with all their limbs against a few of the horde before crawling over them deeper into their lines. Soon enough, each of them explodes, release several small trisilviate spikes.
Their attacks came sporadically, in the smallest amount of number in an area to ensure that there was no waste in their own numbers. At times, an extra Acruani or two following the previous one to ensure that a group of Invaders was destroyed along with them. Though their numbers were holding they surely would at most be able to delay the enemy. Hopefully the allies further at the base would make use of Artillery to focus on the giant.
Just to ensure that at least it was delayed, nearly 50 spiders jumped on each of the giant's leg... spending a considering amount of the spiders they all self-destructed simultaneously, the trisilviate inside them very densely directed towards the legs themselves. If that didn't cripple or at least dampen possible regenerative abilities. The Acruani would require more data.
"They are advancing and splitting us. An allied force attempted to cause a chain reaction to destroy the damaged ships in the system. It was not very effective against the enemy. Our scans show that the initiators took considerable damage from their attempt."
"Any unforeseen circumstance?"
"No, the enemy has successfully breached the blockade while revealing the possible location of a main ship. No contact seems to be possible with the land forces."
"The organics will manage, increase the rate of fire and ensure distance from the enemy. Only start projectile bombardment if low-class ships leave the shroud of the mist. I will begin to charge Aether Cannon. Hamiel, it is time." Archene began walking off the empty command room, its lights remaining on and everything continuing as if there was someone still watching. Of course, inside an Acruani ship there was always someone still watching.
He took a high-speed through the ship, going to one of the closest area to the ship's core. There was a 'keyhole' where only a single thing would certainly properly fit, Hamiel. If one needs a power source for the strongest weapon in the Acruani Collective, what would be better than her?
Regardless, Archene shouted, "Begin Protocol PX-38601. Fire the Aether cannon at 10% strength, if the attack causes damage begin Hyperion bombardment to thin the mist. Start reloading immediately after the shot. I will ensure that firepower is increased to the expected percentage."
Suddenly that room began to hum as the Aether Cannon began charging.
Both Acruani formations began to retreat even as their firing rates increased. Though the fire affect a smaller area, they were using both the data from their own attacks as well as observational data acquired from the way the colonials seemed to be currently fighting.
The Loroi ships which seemed to act like a shoal retreating slightly with sudden vectorial moves. As soon as the seemingly massive ship inside the fog appeared to begin coming out, the Loroi ships seemed to let loose, everything the prow of their ships seemed to detach before speeding up to nearly light speed. Those were the secondary reactors of the Loroi ships. There were nearly 5 thousand of them, little all of the ones they could spare. Each reactor rather than aimed sporadically seemed to be focusing on a rather central point of the planet sized target. Each attack attempting to hit the same point and exploding upon contact with the mist. Hopefully, they would be able to open a hole in the mist for their allies to exploit.
If not, at least the Acruani were. The Moonship inside their higher formation seemed to open something akin to an eye in its surface firing something that visuals would only understand as a tiny sun precisely aimed at the very point the Loroi focused fire was shot.

The Suprion fleets cared little about the exploding reactors; their ships simply reconstructed, and the wrecks of those unsalvageable Suprion ships were chewed by the Star Eaters and then turned into fearsome explosive projectiles against the Invader Swarm. They moved backwards, but their firing never ceased and began to be even more rigorous. Synchronizing with each other, billions upon billions of lasers and plasmatic weaponry flew towards the Abyssal Swarm. But despite this, the Fog only seemed to absorb their shots, but in turn, a main ship of the Abyssals has been possibly revealed. The World Destroyers pointed their menacing artillery at where the enemy main ship would be located, and fired their graviton cannons as well as their anti-planetary weapons. The Star Eaters then began firing what would like tiny stars at the planet sized target. What seemed to be an mouth opened up in the surfaces in the Star Eaters's surfaces, amd put of them flew out nova blasts a molecule thick. They slice through weakly shielded ships with the most horrifying ease, and they are like knives cutting through flesh. Those ships with strong shields are only a little fortunate, as the nova blasts with enough numbers can destroy even the best of shielding. Though that seems not be the case with the planet sized foe.

Carver saw the Invaders, and excitement rose in his chest. He said in a tone of command, "There they are, men! The things that have wrought more sorrow than any other force than perhaps Lucifer himself! Our ancestors cleansed the Delieggen from the universe! Now we repeat their deeds! Kill the Abyssals!" As he said this, the Sergeant opened fire with his gatling laser, and smiled as it tore into the horde.
But his wasn't the only weapon firing. As the Invaders charged, dozens more opened fire, unleashing thousands of streams of burning white light each second. Rather than being resigned to their fate, the Confederate soldiers fought gleefully. As the Abyssal formation lurched closer and closer, they leapt into action. With the press of buttons, combat stimulants surged into their veins, and many of the Dothvalian commandos rushed forward against the horde, using their mammoth size and inhuman strength to their advantage against the living dead. It took several Abyssals to control any of them.
Initially, the Invaders were being torn apart. They were harvested from the battlefield wholesale, their lives a field of wheat and Allied trisilviate a vicious scythe. Their bodies piled liberally, and their blood seeped through the snow to water the long-dead plants of Terra Nova. Cryonic mortars rained down on the Abyssal charge, rooting them helplessly in place as they were destroyed by trisilviate and laser shells. Even as the Dothvalian soldiers fell, they took Invaders with them as their armour became a ball of searing fire. Despite all of this, the horde came closer. When it did, Carver put away his repeating laser, and removed the trisilviate shotgun from his hip. He chose an attachment that would maximise the spread, and fired. The glimmering metal leapt from the barrels, a glittering fog of deadly shards. Many Invaders were felled, but one simply looked annoyed. This was the one Sigma had spoken to earlier, the one in battered Confederate armour.
Rho looked at the battlefield with excitement. He had never tested his men against a defence this strong, not even on Maarlox. It was one thing to board a ship and kill everything inside. But this. This was an assembly of the finest soldiers from across the universe, including Confederate troops even he hadn't imagined. This would be enjoyable. He heard Sigma shouting, and was propelled to action.
He quickly made a similar cut across his hand, and said in an excited tone, "If Sigma thinks she's going to get all the glory for this, she's got another thing coming. I haven't killed since Maarlox. Neither have you, Kalli, and I know we can be more savage than her. I'm more than ready. Take my blood, and let's go spill theirs!"
With that, the Abyssalised Confederate allowed power to course through him, almost losing control, but just hanging on. He charged through the Allied lines, with time seeming to slow down. He mainly focused on the Confederate line, burning holes in enemy armour with his laser weapons. He tried to steer clear of the Dothvalians, knowing they would explode upon death. He eventually saw the commander of the Confederate forces, a soldier under his command long ago. He could tell by the man's fighting style. As he approached, the man attacked viciously. Rho smiled, and asked in an even tone, "Specialist Carver. Is that any way to greet your commanding officer?"
As the battle raged on, the Abyssal troops continued fighting, despite the sea of vicious resistance they faced from Confederate troops. As they were torn apart by trisilviate shrapnel as well as laser fire, still they came, like an endless tide, like a plague of locusts. The Confederate line wavered little, but as more and more commandos were slain, they were forced to fall back to their second defensive line. But the Invaders kept coming. Some had laser weapons, some had armour, some had ballistics. All were advancing.
Seeing the Invader Knight, one commando leapt forward, firing both barrels and swiftly drawing his blade. When Rho attacked in a fury, the man never had a chance to scream. With his inhuman strength, Rho rammed his sword upwards. It punctured the energy shielding and the breastplate of the commando, then his ribcage, his chest cavity, and finally the back plating of the armour. Rho flung the impaled commando to the ground, and locked eyes with Carver.
"Corporal Stuart," the Sergeant said in a tone of shock.
"Now that we wont be interrupted," Rho began. "How are you Scott? You've certainly risen high in the Confederacy, commanding a force of this size."
"You shouldn't have done that," Carver said as he viciously swung his blade in a downward slashing arc.
Ignoring the statement, Rho went on, "I see your combat skills have improved. What's driving you to fight almost levelly with me? Stimulants perhaps? That wont work. I've already tried that."
Carver said in reply, "My actions are driven by righteous anger, my skills are augmented by God. Everyone you've slain will be avenged, whether by my hand or someone else's."
"Fury and the grace of God," Rho said in an intrigued tone. "Well Kali, this will be an interesting challenge." With that, the two Confederate soldiers began their battle in earnest, high against twisted trisilviate, monster against man.
