As he watched his comrades depart, Adriaan, the wounded Dodspoke, drew his sidearm. He raised it to his temple as he heard footsteps drawing closer. Before he could pull the trigger, a member of the 13th Chapter, the White Guard, who dealt with demons and interdimensional entities, tackled him. The gun was still nearby, and Adriaan’s hand raced for it. But before he could reach, one of the Inquisition Knights brought a heavy boot down on his hand. Cursing through gritted teeth, the Dodspoke commando understood he was about to be captured.
“Leave him alive.” the White Guard commander said coldly as stepped forward looking directly at the Dodspoke forcing it to look into the face of death for many creatures deadly or dangerous enough to be deemed a demonic threat by the empire.
“Do you fear demon?” he asked it plain and simple looking at a few of his fellow comrades as they walked into the chambers shutting what remained of the doors.
In an even tone of Universal Standard he had learned from recordings, the commando replied, “I do not. I am a devoted servant of the Lords of Darkness and-”
Before the demon could speak another word he was hit across the face with butt of a rather large Disintegration rifle banned for use in all other branches of the Keltaken military. “That’s all i needed to know...you stand accused of heresy, demonic activiy, assassination of our great leader and in all these things I find you guilty...With the rights of the Inquisition I find you and all your kind Guilty of retribution by the 13th...your end will not be pleasant creature... but before we end you we are going to make you talk now tell me what you are demon…” The massive White Guard commander stood over the wounded creature taking out a small ballistic weapon old fashioned as compared to the technology of the empire but great for inflicting pain.
“I live in what’s equivalent to Hell for most creatures. It’ll take a lot more than ballistics to break me,” the commando said.
“I intend to do more then break you” he said smiling as he slowly forced the barrel of the gun into the open hip wound of the creature slowly taking the time to let the wound close back up before he squeezed the trigger five times in rapid succession and watched for a reaction.
The Delieggen swore in his native language, again gritting his teeth. His eyes snapped shut for a moment, but they reopened quickly, and he again stared into the eyes of the guardsman. It brought back memories of anti-torture training, but he was undeterred. He could take this.
“Subject is harmed by ballistic weaponry internally no signs of natural armor occurring on subject. Switching to next test.” With that the guards around him all began to power up electrified staffs and all at once rammed them against the creature, every act of pain was documented looking for weaknesses in the species ways to force reactions the White Guard cared little for any form of ethics when they felt they were truly dealing with a demon.
Surprised by the use of all eleven at once, the commando shouted in pain for a short time. Then an idea hit him. Considerable voltage was travelling through his body. He suspected the Keltakens were wearing metal-soled combat boots. If this was the case, then they would be electrocuted as well if he could just touch the floor. He did so, and was disappointed by their lack of reaction. His chance gone and a bit of his strength, Adriaan laid back on the floor.
“Subject attempted escape through redirection of current while under attack from all guards present at time of contact...intelligence of species still unknown but class Ulon threat confirmed. Respond creature what are you” the Guard captain said planting a foot into the creature's chest.
“I am a servant of the Darkness. You’d call my masters Abyssals. But that’s all I’m sharing for now.”
“Creature confirms contact with Kalavanti class threat, information logged will continue further tests.” With that the Guards all began to pack up to take the creature back to a more quarantine part of the ship for further study and interrogation.
