Somewhere near the frontline in the Milky Way, the 4th and 6th Great Fleets of the Commonwealth jump in from hyperspace. In total they had 1,000 Iosif Stalin Class Battleships, 500 Tiger Class Battlecarriers, and 10,000 Shermans and 5,000 Panthers. It was commanded by the joint command of Great Admirals Vladimir Putin and Konstantin Lenin.
Admiral Putin was the first to give motivation and objectives to the fleet. His voice sounded through the speakers that are always placed on the ships, except for the Shermans, which had AI's for crews, and thus didn't really needed it. "Alright, boys! Get ready to give these Abyssals a good beating once we see them around. Our objective is to assist the Colonies, Eldari, the Relikans, and other Milky way powers in fighting these monsters. In a week the 5th and 8th Fleets will arrive to reinforce us. Make comrade Stalin proud! Slava Sodruzhestva!"
The entire fleet then moved to a battle position, waiting to engage any Abyssals that appear. They knew that the situation is dangerous, for they are near Line Gloria, a Colonial battleline that was canquered by the Invaders a month or so ago. They will now try to take it back.

For some time after the Commonwealth Fleets jumped, they didn't manage to detect any other signatures in the area. The zone which had once held the systems of Line Gloria was dead and silent, contrasting with how it had been in the past, filled with habitable planets, ships, and space stations. Due to the heroic resistance of the Colonial forces led by the CMS Prinz Eugen, the Federal Government of the Colonies had managed to evacuate most of the civilians, leaving the planets and all their facilities alone. But the Federals were far away now.... All planets were covered in what seemed to be a thick fog, covering up most of their atmospheres, blocking all contact between what was in space and their surfaces. Even if there was something beneath, there was no way the Commonwealth would have known, as the only things they were detecting were faint energetic signatures. The strangest of them all were some signatures right in the middle of the Line, spotting old, Secession War era Colonial identification codes.
But then, out of the sudden, all around the Commonwealth ships, endless numbers of Invader bases jumped, surrounding them, everywhere. They had fallen right in the trap. The bases fired first salvos of missiles, which hit the Commonwealth shields without exploding, throwing out a black fog like substance which started to spread around the Commonwealth ships, jeopardizing their communications. And then, the Invader bases started with an absolutely destructive kinetic batteries barrage at the enemy ships, while starting to launch their characteristic fighters. The battle had begun.

The fleet was ready for an ambush, as ambushes of such style was the order of the day when they dealt with insurgencies, pirates, and rebellions. As soon as the Invader bases came to their sights, the Tigers opened fire their solar cannons. Tigers have a large solar array mounted in them, and by now the panels were already hidden under their armor. In their journey from the Magellanic Cloud 2 to here, they have accumulated gigantic amounts of solar energy.
The kinetic attacks were near to useless against the IS ships, but for the Object 274's and T-300's(I renamed them, look in wiki), it was a different question. They lack deflective stalinium armor, nor do they have rabatorgovets shields. Many of the T-300's and Object 274's in the edge of the formation were felled by the barrage, around 200 at the time. However, the Object 274's then used their superior agility to outmanouvere the larger, slower Invader bases, and began picking off at their weapons systems, peircing the shields with APDS shells(Armor Piercing Discarding Sabot) to destroy the weapons.
The Stalins then let out their deadly weaponry. Massive nuclear missile launches and laser batteries and metallic hydrogen cannons belched the scene with bright, thermonuclear explosions and contaminating the place with deadly radioactive fallout. Though the Commonwealth ships were well protected from radiation, future resettlement might be hampered by these.
The Tigers, as well as the Krushkevs near them, began launching their fighters. They simply watched at the flagship, Vladivostok, for a cue to launch or fire. If the Vladivostok launched fighters or opened fire, they will do so likewise. The fighters were the mainline Vostoks, robotic Soyuz swarm fighters, and the ace's favorite craft, the Sputnik heavy tank fighter.

Just as usual, it didn't take long for the Invaders to adapt and continue the fight. Unlike Line Maria, which was left mostly undefended, or Stacia, where the Invader assault had failed due to the Allied battle plan. This was line Gloria, deep inside Invader territory, between the two already occupied Rose and Victoria lines. Help wasn't going to arrive for the Commonwealth any time soon...
Noticing that the enemy Object 274's and T-300's were trying to outmaneuver them, the Invader bases closed off the surrounding, stopping any of the enemy ships from trying to outmaneuver them. If this would have been a normal Invader group or formation, it would have worked, but this formation was nearly totally surrounding the Commonwealth forces. If a ship would have tried to outmaneuver a base, it would be fired upon by the next base in the formation, and so on. While having to fight the rather hard to destroy Invader ships, and their competent close quarters defense batteries.
And of course, the bases weren't defenseless, as the E-43 Class Destroyers were there to take the mobility battle to the Object's and T's. The xenomorphic fighters, in swarms, also took the fight at the enemy lighter ships, using their energetic torpedoes in the fight.
Although hit by the nuclear and hydrogen armament of the enemy ships, even if they suffered damage, the bases once again proved their immense regeneration capabilities, with the dark substance covering most of them repairing their damages, while they continued to open fire without wavering.
The IS ships might have been resistant, but after all, nothing was invincible.. it was just a matter of force. The Countess Class Bases aimed their Super Laser Cannons at the IS ships, the black lasers opening fire in a pure show of strength.

Die Föderierten Kolonien Zentral Oberkommando
The Federated Colonies Central High Command
It was a busy day in the headquarters of the Central High Command of the Colonial Armed Forces. Although they had earned a glorious victory at Line Stacia, and the Invaders had refrained from any major offensive actions for now, battles were still going on, in something that could be compared to a guerilla war. The main Colonial forces were still stationed at Line Stacia, led by Charles the Great, but the rest of the Kriegsflotte was in the middle of a major reorganization process, receiving in newer ships and resources, getting ready for the reorganization into what the CHC called "the Active Defense Plan", something that was going to be presented at the Conference by the Colonial Delegation.
So, the surprise of the officers in service was great when sensors of the Colonial Strategic Network detected an increased number of thermonuclear explosions and nuclear radiation that clearly weren't of an natural provenience. And that was from Line Gloria, from where nothing else had been detected in months. Luckily, some of the orbital weather sensors were still working, so it allowed the Colonies to still detected various stuff from there.
"Do we know what it is?", the executive officer in service asked, an Oberst der Kriegsflotte/Colonel of the War Fleet. "Negative sir, but it clearly isn't of a natural origin. Someone is using nuclear weapons in the area. We can't analyze it further due to the lack of CSN or CTN sensors in the systems. However, we believe that the explosions aren't of Milky Way origin. The signatures do not match a signature of a nuclear reaction created with Opilium, or with the XYZ45 of the Invaders." Let's just hope the Invaders aren't doing anything funny.. but warn the forces in Stacia. Even if it's a few good thousand light years away, we have to be sure.

Noticing that the bases were closing them off, the Object 274's and T-300's rapidly pulled back to their core fleet, where the Tigers lay wait. The Tigers started to destroy the E-43's chasing the Objects and T's with their solar cannons, and the fighters also began to pull back inside the formation.
The Iosif Stalin's shields resisted stubbornly against the Super Lasers, and the Stalins fired back with more nukes as well as the pyroplasmic grenades. These grenades are very good at penetrating shields, and once they lodge into enemy armor, nothing will stop them from driving themselves deeper into the armor and then explode with a force of 1,000 megatons. They are able to drive in because they have drills that drill into armor. Their explosions once filled the place with more thermonuclear blasts, all the while the two Type 45 Iosif Stalin's, which are the flagships, record's the battle with their cameras and are sending the footage by radio in every direction...
After awhile, the Tigers warped right into the edges of their fleet, and they conjoined their Rabatorgovets shields, forming a spherical shield barrier covering their entire fleet.
Meanwhile, in the bridge of the Vladivostok, an aide asks the admiral Putin of what the shield barrier is exactly. This is his answer,
"These shields allow all objects with Commonwealth energy signatures to pass by harmlessly, while anything that has different signatures, well, are unable to enter."
"Ahh...", said the aide as he watched several Sputniks and Vostoks pass by the shield while some enemy fighters chasing them crash into the shield. "But I expect the enemy to adapt to this tactic, and our energy reserves won't last a day."
"I know. That is why I have prepared Plans B, C, D, E, H, and G."

Even if the Commonwealth Fleet was recording the battle, and sending it by radio in all directions, it was all in vain. The Xenoliths in the sector had started to jam everything, and nobody was going to find out about the battle that was going on here. Even if some Colonial worlds close to the frontline might have gotten some of the recordings before the general jamming had started, a long, long time was going to pass before the information would reach the Central High Command. And in anyway, there was no way Colonial help was going to come.
With the Commonwealth fleet entering a formation, protected by that barrier shield, the Invaders managed to completely form their formation, the Commonwealth ships being now completely surrounded and blocked as in a sphere by the Abyssals, with no way out. Even if a lot of Invader ships had been fatally damaged or destroyed by the enemy thermonuclear attacks, more and more newer ships took their place, while the remains of the damaged ships behind were used to repair and build other Invader ships out of their xenomorphic substances.
It didn't take long for the Invaders to observe that the shields were supposed to keep out everything foreign, and only let Commonwealth signatures in. And that was going to me its biggest flaw. Ever since the beginning of the battle, the Abyssals had taken in the damaged and destroyed Commonwealth ships, metamorphosing them into what the Colonials called ghost ships, basically the remains of those ships repaired by that living, organic dark xenomorphic matter. And just as the combats with phantom ships had showed in the past, this transformation wasn't enough to change a ship's signature, as the ship retained its original signature, the reason for why many times before, the Invaders had managed to infiltrate in places like Xalion, by using phantom ships. And now, these Commonwealth phantom ships were pushed in through the barrier, attacking and fighting the real Commonwealth ships, while the Invader bases unleashed nuclear strikes on the barrier/shield itself. The battle continued.

Noticing that the Invaders have begun to use ghost ships, the Tigers broke the barrier, causing it to shatter and solid shards of energy began pelting the Invader ships. And with this, the Cherryl Orel stealth frigates began to swarm from the Tigers and Krushkevs. The Cherryl Orels, or otherwise called the Black Eagles, have armor completely black;so black that it is impossible to see it in space. And it is coated with reshekton plates, which make it completely undedectable by any means. Fighting it would mean shooting blindly with no means of tracking except for the naked eye. And another thing is that can change color to match its surroundings, a masterpiece of technology produced by the blend of Kirdoni and human technology.
Rapidly, the fleet formed a formation with the Iosif Stalins in the edges, Tigers and Krushkevs in the center, and the Objects, T's, and Black Eagles in the rest of the formation. In the direction towards the Perseus Arm, they began to punch relentlessly forward, using more nuclear weapons than the rest of the battle as a whole. In the first 20 minutes of pushing to the east, an estimated 20,000 nuclear missiles were launched, a four fold increase. And around 100,000 pyroplasmic grenades were used in these 20 minutes, a 10 gfold increase. And even with the relentless firing, the amount of nuclear weapons the fleet held at their hands was still at 80%, as IS ships carried an especially large amount of nukes. The Tigers still had 92% of solar energy remaining, and they are quickly mowing down the smaller enemy ships.
The phantim ships soon suffered, as the Tigers aren't known for allowing anything not to be burned to ash with their solar beams.

Despite the powerful attack of the Commonwealth forces, the Invader formation didn't falter at all. The Commonwealth ships were completely surrounded, meaning that they would have to push directly through the Invader formation to escape- and this surely wasn't going to be easy. Even if the Commonwealth ships used a huge number of nuclear missiles, and pushed forward with all their might, the Abyssals resisted. Nuclear missiles used in space after all weren't as strong as they were if they would be used in a place with an atmosphere. The Abyssal ships themselves had no oxygen on board so the damage was limited. The fact that the defensive batteries and shields of the bases were also taking in a lot of the nuclear missiles and the grenades, the flak fields working excellently.
But the most important advantage that the Abyssals had were their seemingly limitless numbers. Their forces have an amazingly huge pool of reserves to draw from. In such a battle, where the enemy fighting force was unable to push to a decisive strike, the battle was slowly but surely turning into an attrition battle. Even if the Abyssal forces were experiencing disastrous losses due to the lower quality of their ships, there were always other ships to take the place of the fallen ones. And ships that hadn't been completely destroyed had their organic-metalic parts regenerating. The Invaders had no wish to retreat, and they were going to fight up until the end.
With the Commonwealth ships no longer protected by their barrier shield, the Invader bases that were completely surrounding them opened fire without restraint. Nuclear weapons, more powerful than their Commonwealth counterparts due to using the corrupted version of the Colonial Opilium instead of the usual uranium or plutonium, Super Laser Cannons, Main Batteries, Missiles, Energetic torpedoes... the tens of thousands of Abyssal ships fired without remorse, sending forward their swarms of fighters to attack in close combat.
From light, darkness. From fire, ashes. From life, death. That was going to be the fate of this universe. And the Invaders, the Heralds of the High Ones, the bringers of the Abyss... were going to take it to the end.

Before the majority of the enemy nukes reached the Commonwealth forces, the Tigers once again formed a shield barrier within a amazingly short amount of time. The laser cannons and the batteries only made the barrier even stronger, as the barrier is a Rabotorgovets barrier and it absorbs energy beams and turns them to shield energy. In addition, the IS ships only deflected many of the kinetic attacks back to the enemy fleet. And worse of all, the Tigers combined their solar attacks into one big beam, and together, they incinerated many enemy ships and burned a hole in the enemy formation.
Meanwhile, the IS ships revealed from beneath their armor another devastating weapon - the musoroszhigatel'naya pech' energy orbs. These are energy orbs that explode with great devastation once they hit. The IS ships sent the musoroszhigatel'naya pech orbs spinning towards the enemy fleet, causing communications disruptions and explosions of a power of 50,000 megatons. The Commonwealth isn't gonna give up for long.

Despite the disastrous losses the Abyssals were experiencing because of the Commonwealth's attacks, the Invader formation didn't falter. Every time a ship was destoryed, another one took his place. They had no end. And with the fight getting serious... they came.
Soon enough, the Commonwealth ships started to experience the interference of the Xenoliths, blocking off their communications, confusing their electronic and cybernetic systems. Forcing hallucinations into the Commonwealth soldiers with a weaker psyche. Against the darkness, there was no way to win...
With the barrier back up, the Invaders continued their destructive attack, unleashing everything on the barrier. It might have been powerful, but there was no way it could resist the cbined attacks of tens of thousands of bases... from fire, ashes.

Beginning to suffer from the Xenolith's attacks, the once extremely destructive attacks of the Commonwealth forces started to slowly weaken. However, they still kept attacking, with only one objective in mind - To kill as much as possible. And even when they lost, they will still be abke to self-destruct, which will be able to destroy, or in the very least, fatally damage every single thing in the area, due to Helium 3 and solar energy being combusted in such huge quantities.
The barrier held on stubbornly, being strengthened by the Abyssal laser attacks. And from behind the barrier, the fleet kept firing an endless torrent of fire, energy, destruction, and radiation at the abyssals. Its been centuries since they fought a major battle, and they have no intension of allowing their first majr battle in 200 years a complete failure. They will win, or die trying.

If dying in this battle was what the Commonwealth forces truly wanted, then that was probably what it was going to happen. They were fighting bravely, but for every Abyssal ship which was destroyed, two more were taking its place. The damaged bases, as long as they still had their cores, repaired their damage with their organic xenomorphic matter, returning to the battle. The Invaders truly seemed to have no end.. and an attrition battle against them seemed to be lost from the beginning, at least as long as if was fought with wrong tactics.
The Invader formation continued its restless attacks without faltering, unleashing their most destructive attacks against the barrier. Nothing could last forever, and sooner or later, the barrier was going to fall. Sooner or later, the Commonwealth forces were going to lose.

Seeing that there s no hope for an actual victory in this battle, Admirals Putin and Lenin looked at each other in the bridge of the Vladivostok, before nodding. They knew what each other meant.
"Ready for an explosive end, comrade?"
"Nah, I don't have a family to come back to anyway. If going boom will be our end, so be it. Atleast these capitalist pigs won't be able to turn us to one of them."
"The light message system of the fleet tells us that our people are ready to die in honor. I will issue now issue Order 227: Go boom, and let the enemy be destroyed along as well."
"Hah! I thought that meant 'Not one step back!'."
"Still the same thing... Now, we go boom."
The Vladivostok then flashed its lights in a pattern, and the Commonwealth ships that saw it passed it on to thise who didn't. The message meant this : Once the barrier falls, the entire fleet is to fight to the end, for escape is impossible. Once the fleet is whittled down, the remaining ships will violently self-destruct abd destroy every single thing in the area in a final act of madness.
This was Order 227.

Not knowing about the suicidal order of the Commonwealth vessels, the Abyssal forces continued their devastating attacks, with clearly one objective in mind- destroying the barrier. The barrier shield might be resistant, but not even it could resist such an intense attack forever... it was going to break, and the Invaders were going to make it break.
While continuing with their previous attacks, the Invader bases prepared their Superlaser Cannons, and opened the hatches of their nuclear missiles. With everything ready, the Abyssals fired their destructive superlaser cannons at the barrier, while also pounding it with countless nuclear warheads. It had to break.
