Name: The members of this race call themselves "the Xevelins". Even so, usually various other names used by other nations and races are used when referring to them, like Cat People(Galactic Standard0, Katzenmenschen(Colonial Standard), and two names that are supposedly originating from Earth, even if what they actually mean is unknown,Neko and Nekomimi.
Homeworld: Unfortuantely, the Xevelins do not have a homeworld, and all mentions of any possible homeworlds they could have had in the past have been lost. They are generally spread as inhabitants of the middle ring of the Milky Way(in the middle,at approximately between the center and the Periphery). The fact that they are similar to one of the old animals of Earth, the cats, has made them largely popular as servants all across the known universe however, so they're practically spread everywhere.
Allegiances: The main group of their population is living in the Federated Colonies, where they can enjoy the same rights as any other Colonial citizens. However, due to them being popular as servants, they can be met practically anywhere in the universe, and they are even used as slaves in the states which still support slavery.
Lifespan: Under normal circumstances, they have shorter lifespans than humans, but even between their race, multiple subspecies exists, so the lifespans vary from around 20 years to some that life a little more than an usual human.
Appearance: They have a mostly human like appearance, with the addition of cat like ears and tails.
Abilities: They have better reflexes, a better agility, a better sight and hearing than an usual human, as they have seemingly a lot in common with the cats. Also, they are extremely cute. Like seriously.
Other: Their exact origin is unknown, since most information about them has been lost during the Long Night. There are multiple theories around, with none of them having enough evidence however.

- Alien race. The first theory says that the Xevelins are an alien race that eventually became so similar to the human race due to being conquered by the humans in the first stages of their expansion, and cross breeding.
- Genetic experiment. Certain evidence suggests that they might be the result of genetic experiments of the old Terran authorities before the Long Night.
- The third theory suggests that they might be the result of a long crossbreeding between the human race and a cat like humanoid race that eventually went extinct.
