"Orbital Control here," a voice answered the message. "Permission granted. Your wife, Star Admiral Sarah Voran, is recovering from the last battle. Proceed to the coordinates I'm transmitting, and you'll arrive at her location shortly. Two Hollow-class starfighters will guide you to the hangar."

"Roger that Orbital Control. Thanks for the heads up. Will hold in orbit until your fighters arrive." Gavin replied as his unarmed Tornado Fighter, a more modern design compared to the Breeze, remained still above the atmosphere. While the Jupiterrans use the latest Fifteenth Generation Typhoon Starfighter, Augustine Relikai's exile 500 years ago took the Third Generation Breeze with him. However, Relikan spies managed to spot the Jupiterran Twelfth Generation Tornado, and it became the mainstay of the Relikan Star Fleet, with Relikan technology allowing it to beat even the Jupiterran Typhoons, adding much to Gaius Silverheart's headache.
As the escorts arrived, Gavin sent his fighter into slow cruise mode as they soared through the skies, with Gavin noting the design of Karsopolis, thinking of the next settlement to build for the Relikans. Granted only a short while to view, as he pulled ahead to land with the Hollow fighters having a clear shot of his back. Taking a moment to chill in his fighter, Gavin waited for a moment as he powered down all his systems and ordered his cruiser to take a defensive patrol around the planet. He also spent a few moments taking a look at the Breeze fighter, charred and badly damaged with a missing wing, sitting by itself within an enclosed bay.
It was his first fighter before giving it to Sarah as a wedding gift.
Gavin wondered for a moment if he should carry his customary sidearm and sword, before deciding to carry only his sword. Hopping down, Gavin approached the nearest contingent, allowing himself to be searched as he presented his weapon before the commander.
"My weapon, and I demand to be searched to follow security protocols." Gavin said with a straight tone. Even if they were very arbitrarily within themselves in the Star Fleet, security and respect was something never to be trifled with.

"As you prefer," the man in black at the hangar said. He wore a long and dark coat of woven fabric armour, dark pants and shirt, dark sunglasses with an integrated HUD, a silenced K-12 laser carbine on his back, and also a trisilviate vibrosword. The man stood 6'1, and had black hair with an occasional streak of grey. He was Jack Markinson of Imperial Intelligence, better known as Phantom One. He examined the Relikan's weapon, and waited as other Intelligence agents waved detection devices over Gavin and patted him down. The agent commented, "A fine weapon you have." And when the reports from the scanners appeared in his HUD, he said, "And, no weapons were detected on your person. You can follow me to Admiral Voran. I'm Jack Markinson, the Director's best agent, sent to screen you. Lieutenant Jennings is guarding your wife's room, and the Governor's phsyician Dr Blair is seeing to her care. In short, she has been kept in good hands. Follow me please. And thank you for your cooperation so far." With that, Markinson turned on his heel and led Gavin to Sarah's room.
Upon their arrival, Sharp, Silva, Blair, and Jennings were all present with Sarah. Sharp smiled as he extended a hand and said, "Ah. Welcome. I was beginning to wonder just when the Relikans would be along. It's good to see you've arrived."

Gavin took Sharp's hand with a firm shake, glancing past the man to acknowledge the other Confederates before looking at Sarah, who was now pretending to be asleep.
"Thank you, for rendering aid when we needed it." Gavin said as he went over to shake the hands of the others too. "Sorry I took a little while, was at the Magellanic Cluster when I heard about Sarah. Thankfully... we didnt exactly track each other via our machines, more of an emotional sense." The Star Reaver didn't exactly know how to explain it, a type of spatial awareness which allows couples to sense each other and detect their pain.
"Yes, we've finally arrived. I heard that this is Sarah's... second time in Karsopolis. A pity we could not come over in more favorable times. Admittedly I'm owing Sarah a holiday and hunting Invaders and clearing their nests should not be a form of it." Gavin joked. Sitting on Sarah's bed, Gavin looked at his wife's peaceful sleeping face, fully knowing her ploy. "Say, you all won't have a tomato lying around do you?"

“That's an...odd request,” Sharp said. “But it can be met. It’ll be a moment.”
Sharp removed a holocomm from his pocket, switched on a holographic keyboard, and sent a simple, captioned message. The message read, “Single tomato, fresh, Floor 28, Room 7.”
He then turned back to Gavin and said, “Well, I’m glad you were able to arrive so quickly. And yes, this is the second time Admiral Voran has been in Karsopolis. The first was a contact meeting.”
As the two were talking, Silva waved a hand from the corner, signalling that Markinson could leave. He quickly departed. Jennings discreetly moved about the room as well, not to avoid Gavin, but to regain his view of the hallway.

Gavin gave a sly smile as the order for the tomato went out. Next to him, Sarah seemed to have quivered a little.
"I see. She told me about the first contact. Unfortunately that was when we were migrating over to Sol, we participated in the final stages of the war to unite the humans of the Milky Way into a single entity under the Federated Colonies. We just managed to get some days of leave before holding an Inter-Galactic conference to discuss an alliance against the Invaders, which I guess, had already made their mark here."

“Yes,” Sharp said. “The Invaders have made their presence known, attacking two crucial planets within the Confederacy. The good news is, they haven't absorbed anyone important enough to learn our most secret planet, the one where all of the REAL projects go on.” When Silva shot him a frightened look and dragged her finger across her throat in a desperate gesture, Sharp realised he had said too much.
He quickly changed the subject as a servant entered the room with the tomato. He handed it to Gavin and said in a confused voice, “Your tomato is here.”

"Alright, thank you very much." Taking the fruit, Gavin rolled his fist around it as he presented it before Sarah. Slowly, he compressed the fruit as it began to dent, showing the effects of the pressure on it's surface. Just as it was ready to explode, Sarah opened her eyes and threw her arms forward, hands reaching for Gavin's neck as he extended an arm to keep his wife at bay.
"Interesting. Well, all nations have their secrets, and no, we should not have heard that... unless it really is needed." Gavin said, making an obvious sign that he heard and caught what Sharp said. "At least, even if the Invaders know our weaknesses and crucial planets... I'd feel that it's not what they do with the information, but how did they know. Don't you agree, Governor Sharp?"

"Yes," Sharp said. "I do wonder how they knew to attack Malantogue and Maarlox. But, I think I know the answer." This time, he looked at his wife, who gave a slow nod for him to go on. "The answer was on Tau Volantis. The last deployment and almost complete massacre of Wendigo Company. Lieutenant Michael Embry, one of our first soldiers to fight the Invaders, died on that mission. He was stalling one of the High Invaders so that the Hegemon and the other Allied soldiers could reach the base containing Heaven's Fall. He died after a short bout with the High Invader called Sigma. Given the presence of a Marker, I expect the Lieutenant rose, like the other dead soldiers. But he was different. Until his death, he was trusted with the most in the fight against the Invaders. Thank God we didn't tell him everything, but the Confederacy did share a great deal. He would have known where Malantogue and Maarlox are, known to hit the capital and draw forces away, and he would have known the strategic value of both worlds. And so the Invaders use our own dead against us. Against all of us."

"Oh. Those things." Sarah said. "Those are always our first targets, and most of our ships were self-destruct capable should a Marker be nearby. Seems like a long history, seems like we missed much."
"Yep, we did." Gavin affirmed. "Well, these Invaders are smart. With each person turned surely they would have come to store the knowledge within our dead. And with that, their effort grows stronger against everyone. The loss of an ally's asset is the loss of all against the Invaders."
