Slowly, Alexander woke up calmly. Strangely enough, the sleep wasn't as bad as he had initially thought. Even the nightmares weren't as bad as in previous nights. The only thing that had replayed in his mind was the time he had spent bleeding on the ground, with the town burning around him. While to another person, this would have also seemed like a bad nightmare, for Alexander, who had experienced the death of his family again and again, having to witness only the end in his mind was more like a bliss. And even more, the nightmare even seemed to stop somewhere. It was the first time for as far as he could remember when he had actually a part of the sleep with no nightmares or Mosrael interfering. Quite strange.
Slowly coming back to his senses as he was waking up, the young Colonial truly learned to appreciate how good it was to sleep in a comfortable bed. He could count the number of times he had slept in actual bed in the last year on his fingers, while, on the other hand, the number of times he had fallen asleep in the command center of a ship far surpassed his numerical ability. Suddenly though, Alexander realized something. There was something strange going on. Next to him, on the bed, under his arm, was someone. Someone who was sleeping. And when he got in the bed, he was alone. He was completely sure about that. What happened?
Slowly turning around, Alexander quickly realized that he was extremely close to Haruna. She was calmly sleeping next to him, wearing a light tank top and shorts, with her arms covering her chest. If there was one thing Alexander was sure about, was that Haruna wasn't there when had gone to sleep. She surely wasn't there.
Gulping, Alexander blushed when he realized just what kind of a situation he was in. This was his room, right? It surely seemed so. Then, why was Haruna here? He had absolutely no idea. He tried to calm himself now, even if he was so close to her, practically looking at her face.
"Um.... Haruna?", Alexander asked, hoping to wake her up.

Haruna stirred as Alexander called her name. Instead of waking up immediately, Haruna seemed to smile as she curled into a fetal position, before her eyes opened, seeing Alexander in front of her. Shocked, Haruna seemed to forget that she moved to Alexander's side while he was sleeping as she quickly scrambled to her feet, only to lose her balance and crash onto the carpeted floor.
"Ah.." Haruna muttered. "Er... erm... I hope we aren't late... I-I... I had nightmares... and I saw that you were having some of your own... As your vice-commander, I had to ensure that you are in tip top condition." She responded defiantly, trying to create an excuse on justifiable grounds, rather than letting Alexander see that she came over because of her own nightmares.
"I... I hope you didn't mind me... sleeping next to you..."

As the golden eyed girl slowly woke up, Alexander was about to say something just as she opened her eyes. Unfortunately, he had no time to say anything, as Haruna, probably shocked, fell from the bed onto the carpeted floor, Alexander unable to do anything else then watch. Once again, the young Colonial tried to say something, only to be interrupted again by Haruna, who had started to sleep. She seemed to want to create some sort of an excuse for that, but she let the fact that she had nightmares slip through.
"No... I don't exactly mind you.. sleeping next to me.", Alexander said, slightly blushing. "I was just... surprised. I didn't expect to wake up with you next to me.". The black eyed man offered his hand to Haruna in order to help her stand back up. "Did you.. have nightmares?"

Haruna remained silent for a while, before taking Alexander's hand. Moving next to the Colonial, Haruna shared her nightmares.
Chains binding her, strangling her, Omega draining her of blood, Invaders violating her in ways unimaginable. Haruna was brave, but some of these fears were a girl's worst nightmare.
"They... They just had their way with me... I feel like I've been marked... By Omega... A High Invader targeting me..." Haruna whispered. She trembled slightly from the cold, and the fear, as she looked at Alexander. "It seems to them, that the thing between them and their victory in the Milky Way, is me..."

"If there is one thing the Invaders are really good at, it's the way they make their enemies fear them, by playing with their minds.", Alexander said after a few moments of silence."They will always find a way to sneak into our minds and make us experience our worst nightmares. Like those cursed torpedoes."
The young Colonial then put his hand on her shoulder and looked into her eyes.
"Even if they think that you're the only thing between them and their victory, even if they will try to harm you, it doesn't matter. I'll protect you. I'm not going to let them harm you."

"Mhm..." Haruna muttered as she leaned into Alexander. She enjoyed it when she could rest on him, although she didn't say it, preferring him to learn and figure it out himself. "I'll be counting on you... I just... I felt so scared when they are in my head... When they could actually touch me... When Omega... When Omega seemed to consume my soul."
Haruna's top has slipped a little as she rested against Alexander, unintentionally giving the Colonial a view down her chest. The trace of her ample bosom seemed to tempt him as a call from Mosrael fed the raging hormones within him, especially after the recent... Touches... He had with the girl now resting in him. Thoughts which were quickly forgotten when Haruna sensed him looking.
"Hey. Kind of enjoying something, aren't you?" She asked playfully. Teasing this man seemed to be her favorite hobby.

"Don't worry. I won't let her touch you again.", Alexander said as Haruna leaned on him. She seemed to be calmer while doing that, and the young Colonial of course, also enjoyed it. He was of course, ready to comfort her when she needed.
Then, the black haired man's attention was suddenly attracted by a certain.. view. Well, she was next to him, and dressed like that. It would be near to impossible for a normal man not to look at it. And of course, Haruna teased him for that. Alexander blushed a little.
"Well, I was just... admiring the view.", the Colonial said, smiling a little.", And, it's not exactly my fault. Weren't you the one who secretly slipped into my bed during the night?"

Haruna smirked at Alexander's words as she placed her hand over the neck of her top to block his view of her cleavage, before surprising him by pulling it outwards, granting him a clear view of her assets. Giggling as she heard the awkward cough, Haruna took a peek at the clock by the wall of the room. One more hour till their stipulated rest time is over... and Haruna was still feeling slightly tired. However, she has no intention of sleeping again, lest she fall into a deep sleep and wake up feeling irritable.
Instead, the Jupiterran was feeling slightly playful as she turned around, pushing Alexander down before swinging one of her legs over him, straddling the Colonial onto the bed as she brought herself down to him, very close indeed. Instead of the past events when Alexander was on top, groping Haruna, this time the Jupiterran was resting her head on his chest, as if listening to his heartbeat. Alexander tried to say something, but a finger to his lips killed any words about to be said. They remained in the silence for a while, Haruna allowing Alexander to place him hands on her back, pulling her even closer. It was a personal moment between the two, one which Haruna cherished. Even though it seemed like they had plenty of these, every battle, every trial only made it all the more precious to the girl.
"Alexander..." Haruna whispered as she turned to him. Their noses were nearly touching as Haruna shifted her hair to allow Alexander to take in her face fully. "Do you feel better when I'm around? If you'd like, and if it helps, Haruna doesn't mind sleeping next to the Star Admiral." She continued, emphasizing the word 'next', in order not to create any misunderstandings between the two.

Somehow, the situation took an unexpected turn, as Haruna pushed him down and got on top of him, resting her head on his chest. She was.. extremely close. He tried to say something, but the golden eyed girl put a finger to his lips, so he remained quiet as he simply placed his hands on her back, pulling her a little closer. He was blushing a little, yeah, but for some reason, he felt really calm. It seemed like a normal thing to do.
She then turned to him,her face being extremely close to his, as she was looking in his eyes and whispered to him.
Even if she emphasized the word next, and he fully understood that it meant sleeping next to him and not.. the other thing, Alexander blushed a little.
"Well.. yeah. I feel better.. with you around.", the young Colonial said." Of course, if.. you also want to, the Star Admiral will grant you permission to sleep next to him.", he said, smiling. After saying that, Alexander leaned forward just a little, and kissed her.

Returning the kiss, Haruna continued to lie on Alexander. "You're getting better with your kisses it seems..." She whispered as she tapped Alexander's nose "Also, stop it with your Star Admiral... even Gaius doesn't use it like this."
So it was settled, Haruna thought. It won't take much to shift some of her belongings over to this room, and certainly no one would even notice. If they were of different genders, the thought of the Admiral and their vice-commanders would be in a relationship was common among the Star Fleet. Already, many males went about their job, trying to forget the fact that Shimazaki Haruna was probably in the arms of a foreign Colonial, which she was right now.
Time passed quickly, and Haruna suddenly realised that she has to change back into her uniform. Slowly disengaging from Alexander, she got up, only to remember something. As the Colonial stared back at her, Haruna reached down to give him another passionate kiss, one which contains her hunger.
"I'll see you in the Command Center, five minutes." And she was gone. But not before leaving a fresh set of white Jupiterran uniforms by Alexander's dresser.
"Admiral on deck." Haruna announced as Alexander came through the doors.
"Admiral, of the three systems scanned, one contains alien lifeforms, another is rich in minerals, while the third has several mysterious energy signatures generating from the core of the main planet." Haruna said as she scanned through the information. In fact, within a minute after plugging herself into her terminal, the information was all processed in her mind.
"While I would guess that the Relikan Star Fleet might be present in the third system, I have detected warp signatures between all three. The Relikan Star Fleet might be anywhere. Your call, Star Admiral Werther."

The Nagusian escorts sent a message to the Kongou, informing them that they are also detecting various signatures, and are willing to split up their forces to investigate further.

A couple minutes after Haruna left his room, Alexander arrived at the command center, wearing a white Jupiterran uniform, and feeling really weird. In the Colonies, there was a single branch of the Colonial Armed Forces wearing white uniforms. The Medical Division. And just in general, switching from a bright blue with red uniform to a white one was still... strange to say at least.
Arriving on the deck, Alexander listened to Haruna's report, and thought a little. While the Relikan Star Fleet obviously could have been in any of the third system, they had to choose one to start.
"Let's go to the third system first. Those energy signatures, we should make sure the Invaders aren't the ones behind them. After that, we can check the others too."

"Yes sir. Attention Fleet and Nagusian ships. This is the Vice-Admiral of the Kongou speaking. We're heading towards the System in sector G-Seven. We are investigating an unknown Energy Source to ensure they are not hostile. We suggest staying together, to prevent the risk of getting cut off and overwhelmed."
Nodding at Alexander, Haruna began to plot courses as the Kongou warmed up its Warp drives as it tethered itself to the other ships around her. "Warping in three... two... one... Engage!"
The Fleet arrived into a system of five planets and nine moons, the five planets seemingly glowing with energy.
"Signals are strong on the sur- no... The core. It seemed like these infrastructure is drawing power from the planet's heat." Haruna whispered. A particle scan revealed no Invaders. "Source of the energy... Seemed to be a form of Plasma but... Such refinement... I... I have... The Star Fleet has not come to such a level of technology yet..."
Suddenly, a small fighter with several detached components jumped right behind the Kongou.
"What the- it's a Breeze Fighter!" Haruna exclaimed. No sooner than that, a transmission came over the open channels.
"Unknown ships, please identify yourselves. You are in the territory of Jupiternii. Identify and power down weapons and lower shields to fifty percent, over."

As they arrived in the system, they quickly found signs that the system was inhabited. Those sources of energy, drawing energy from a planet's core.. if it was actually working, it was incredible. Like many other commanders of the Colonies, Alexander had been involved in the so called energy dispute. Opilium, while extremely good, had many problems, a reason for why many Colonials at least wanted to remove it from civilian use. Drawing energy from a planet's core, that was one of the alternative proposals. But with the war, the Science Division never actually managed to do anything. If that technology was working..
Suddenly, a fighter jumped behind them, called a Breeze fighter by Haruna. And a transmission came over the chanel. Alexander answered.
"To the ship of the Jupiternii, this is the Jupiterran Star Fleet. We are not hostile and have no intention to fight. We would power down weapons and lower shields, but in this dark age the universe has fallen in, I hope that you understand that we need some guarantee that we won't be attacked first."
The Kongou slowly started go power down weapons and lower the shields, the Seydlitz and the Dresden doing the same. But even if the Jupiternii ship couldn't see that, the Colonial ships were ready to launch fighters.

"Jupiterra huh? Haven't heard that name in five hundred years. Don't worry, I have no hostile intent..."
The Breeze fighter soared up to the Kongou, as it casually came to a stop in front of the Battlecruiser. "That's a pretty sweet ship. The Kongou huh. By the way, my name's Sarah Voran, Paladin of the Relikan Star Fleet. The sector you are in is an entire network of traps and ambushes. We lure Invaders here with our planetary energy signals..."
Slowly but surely, ships began to appear around the Jupiterran, Colonial and Nagusian ships. Dozens... Hundreds... Most of them of the Destroyer-class or larger, including a dozen Battleships. The insignia splashed across the hull showed the emblem of Jupiterra, minus the background decal. A fresh printing of the Relikan Star Fleet.
"... And destroy them. However, you are not Invaders, and I see some ships of a colonizing race. No matter, would you like to meet our Star Admiral?"
Haruna was stunned. The Breeze was a design 500 years old, she explained to Alexander, but their scanners detected ultra-modern equipment on it. As the Relikan ships revealed themselves, Haruna could identify each and every class and ship type.
"The Relikan Star Fleet..." Haruna whispered. "We've found them... Or rather, they've found us..."
